I don’t need another hobby, but this would be a fun one.
I have been successful picking the 3 pin locks on a couple of fire resistant storage boxes. I used a small screwdriver for tension and a small Allen wrench that I ground down to lift the pins.

Those Dexter cylinders are infamous for feeling like they’re made of cheese. Swapping them for better Schlage guts is often quicker than trying to tune the cheap ones. I picked up a few basics from this locksmith jobs guide, which helped me figure out why some of those bargain cylinders bind so weirdly and how to re-pin them without fighting the tolerances.

It's funny that this came back up, I just helped a neighbor in the building break into their office. I used a technique that was shown to me by *another* office neighbor.

You take 2 big ass flathead screwdrivers, and you pry the strike play away from the door, flexing the steel door frame into the drywall. Eventually, after 1-1.5mm, the door will pop open, and everything will relax back into it's original shape.

Lockpicking!

Yeah, thieves don't pick locks. There are lots of faster ways to get into someplace.

THis came back up because a SPAMMER bumped the thread. Eventually, they'll edit their post to add a link to something. Probably Dexter Schlage locks

I thought I reported the spammer as I usually do after clicking and looking at past posts that have been edited with a link. IDT the admins care that much. If they don't then I don't.
