I wish the announcers would tone it down.
Every time someone goes off, "OhOOOOOOOO" Never seen a IndyCar race with so many unknown (at least to me) drivers.

Love IndyCar, overall my favorite series
But agree with the earlier assessments: --Announcers, particularly Diffey, are terrible. Too much fake drama screaming, and their obsession today with Canapino was borderline ghey --Castroneves and Rahal should both be done, as should Ryan Hunter Rhey. Nothing to add, lots of wrecks and too slow. Do yourself and the sport a favor and retire --Newgarden is my favorite driver but lacks the consistency of Dixon. He either dominates or makes mistakes mid-pack. When caught up in others drama, can't find his way back to the top ala Dixon --More announcer nonsense: with 10 laps to go, lets NOT follow the race up front, but go "through the field" and talk about what an incredible job Sting Ray Robb has done to NOT finish last. Idiots |

Or ‘Hip Checked him’ I have heard that one too many times by these jokers. And I’m a hockey fan.

I mute the sound for the early laps of F1 and Indy Car... sometimes even longer. All that hollering is ridiculous AND I WON'T STAND FOR IT!
If they had a alternate channel or cable setting for just the sound of the cars, I'd use that most of the race.

I'd like to see a lap-by-lap breakdown of Dixon's last 3 wins. My god, he comes from no where/no chance, then works the pit stops, fuel mileage, yellows, stays out of trouble and bingo - another win

To another posters point about Corkscrew…I have driven more than 100 laps around Laguna Seca and the sensation of coming over Corkscrew and down the other side is unbelievable. You can’t see the track over the hood before you plunge down the hill and to the right. Truly a unique experience.

I certainly mute the last lap. I can see raising one's voice if 2-3 cars are side by side, but if the winner is out of sight of 2nd place, well it's a finish folks. The moment I read the column displaying the finish order I hit the off button.

I flagged at 5A. According to race control at the end there were 8 full course cautions for a total run time of an hour. I got tired of holding my double yellows through the fence. Turn 11 was very busy as was 2.

Thanks for the pictures. You're very good behind the shutter.
As an old fossil, I sure wish that the drivers were identified on the race cars they drove. It used to be that you could tell Emmo from Tracy From Mears from Little Al by the helmet. Without that connection, it's hard to want to commit time to a series or a season. At least that's my feeling. (The only car/driver combo I could be sure of is the 12.)

Back in the 90's w/ CART, duplicate sponsor/car colors were very common w/ Target, Marlboro, Kool and others sponsoring 2 cars in the same race with identical livery. The only difference was the drivers helmet and the color of the nose or roll hoop. It made it a btch to blue flag them because it seemed that one was slower than the other and my eye sight isn't good enough to pick up the leader when coming out of the shadows or at 200 mph. We were given pictures of each car and the drivers helmet to help id each car. Most of the time, I let everyone else flag because I got named as the designated communicator for the corner, which means you end up with a set of headsets on for the whole weekend even during the support races. Wife & I got asked to come to Indy for F1, but by then, I didn't like the series because of the identical liveries and small numbers.

I just read Dale Coyne Racing still hasn't signed any drivers for this year ! Yikes cutting that pretty close to the season opener .

RE: knowing the drivers. Even me, with a fairly good knowledge of the teams and drivers, was asking my buddy who had a roster up on his phone who was who on some of the cars. Some of that was just new teams, new sponsors, etc. (i.e. "I think that car says Bon Jovi on it!" It comes around again ... it DOES say Bon Jovi on it
). But, yeah, why not put the driver names in bigger, legible letters???? Dale Coyne had an all white car (#51 I think) and I think they were trying out drivers. I hadn't heard the news that Grosjean is with Juncos this year. The McLaren 'looked' the fastest of all but I don't know if that was the case. They use a short partial course for these tests. It would be interesting to see them run the full course to compare to the GTP and WEC lap times.
