				Indycar 2023

Thought we should have an Indycar post for the season . Today's opener was just crazy . Two accidents with cars flying fortunately no major injuries . The Grosean/McLaughlin battle was great until it wasn't . Crazy last two laps . Enjoyed the race look forward to the next one .

I can't imagine the repair bills from this race . Lots of dead carbon fiber ☹️ . Tight street courses leave very little margin for error . Add to that halfway through the race the build up of rubber marbles was so bad they only had one racing line . On to the next one .

It was a very interesting start to the season ! I was rooting for grosjean. Oh well c'est la vie. I have a friend who is an engine builder for the Road to Indy series. He sent me a picture with some of the marbles in his hand. They were the biggest ones he had ever seen. They were huge..

Well, It wasn't a 3 to 5 lap parade to the checkered. White flag was out or about to be displayed and IDT the 2nd place car had much of a chance. I think Newgarden had the wheels all along. Fair and square ending.

I am a firm believer that races should end while racing . It's not a perfect world and I get it . But I don't have to like it .

			1) I have no idea why Rossi was penalized for the pit accident when the other car blasted over from the far lane at a steep angle.

			2) Grosjean almost ended Newgardens day by squeezing him. Grosjean gave Newgarden the race when he crashed. 3) They used to show the winner wearing a hat and firing two revolvers. What happened to the revolvers? Did political pressure eliminate them or did the broadcast not show them?

The Rossi pit penalty was a head scratcher . How is his spotter supposed to know that an incoming car is going to peel off the exit lane to a pit stall ? If you are heading to your pit stall you are supposed to be in the middle lane . That is the visual indicator to all spotters that a safe release is warranted . Oh well on to the next race .

Is it possible they didn't do the revolver shoot em up celebration as a gesture of respect to those recently killed in the Tennessee school shooting ?
