When I was younger I was walking a family friends dog and it stirred up a wasps nest, and we both got attacked severely, it was near a beach and the dog ran into the ocean so my Dad grabbed me and threw me into the water. In about a minute I the pain was gone. I probably go bit 100 times and even on my ears and in my mouth.
Salt water has always been my go to since then.

The ex-GF, so wise in many regards, took it before plane flights.
And she slept well until destination. It's an antihistamine. The time for taking it is probably past due. Buy some for later. Probably useless at this point.. The dog was once stung by a dozen 'ground bees' and went into anaphylactic shock. She was a nurse. (they are usually known to be peaceful unless disturbed) I walked around looking for a hive to eliminate. The irony was: This was the first time in a year she walked him.

That's what I'm thinking this was....ground bees.
It's been very dry around here and they are very active.

Papaya juice or meat tenderizer will stop initial burn like magic, protease. Also most excellent for jellyfish envenomation. It is handy to keep a little dry meat tenderizer in your kit for this sort of thing, keeps better if you keep container cool in a zip lock bag N.B. don't try to grab the stinger, you sort of scratch it out with your fingernail or if there is a little more hill in your billy, put mud on it, dry, then remove and mud will pull stinger out

Ouch.
Steve it could have been a whole lot worse. Ya, know, bee flying up your pant's and all. I got stung/bitten by a bumblebee under my arm. Woooooo, that hurt for a week |

The sting is in my thigh...exactly opposite of where I can see it...and higher.
Right about where the elastic of briefs would fit.

The funniest part of this....I always worry about the deer on my morning bike rides. They are always in the edges of the roads waiting to jump out when I pass. Sometimes it's very close to one.
Instead, a simple bee/insect causes more hurt.

Boxers instead of briefs for a bit, maybe commando
Had a hornet fly down my shirt one time driving the old convertible bug, felt like a lit cigarette fell on my chest

I literally had bad dreams about all types of bees for years after that. It didn’t help, that my friend and coworker constantly played pranks on me using bees. I think I would’ve died if I got 100 stingers. |

^^^ Commando might have put me off the road with the bee's.
My saddle doesn't fit boxers...briefs are the best comfort.

Most likely yellow jackets..small, multiple stings, hurts like hell for days. Aspirin helps.
I keep honey bee hives…love honey bees…like native bees..tolerate “sweat” bees but I HATE Yellowjackets and kill them and hornets with glee.

That's exactly what I'm thinking happened. I'm substituting beer for aspirin. It's working.

For the record:
Honeybee stings have good medical purposes and known positive attributes. Just like leaches and maggots. Finally.

50/50 mix of clear white ammonia and water on a Q-Tip or a cotton ball. Dab the area you got stung. Stops everything before you can say the word NOW.
No ammonia place a moist tea bag on the bite site (black tea like Bigelows English Breakfast) . The tannins pull the venom from the site.

It sucks. But not as bad as a yellowjacket in the mouth while biking (not me, a companion).
I did once hit a hornets nest with a string trimmer. Ran across the yard ripping off clothing and doing a fire roll.
