Great that he had a friend like you, Byron.
Sorry to hear of Teddy's passing.

Teddy was lucky to have you in his life, Byron, and would surely be proud to call you his friend.

Byron, you were a good friend to Teddy. If you get to heaven on points, you'll be at the head of the line.

Isn't it interesting how a person is transported from having a name to "the body?" I'm not criticizing in any way, just an observation. It happened when my neighbor died. She was "Becky" to us for as long as we knew her. She died in her sleep two years ago and while we waited outside her bedroom for the coroner I noticed that in our conversations she changed from "Becky" to "the body."

You did and are doing what you could for your friend. I just hope the son isn't a PITA to deal with. If so, just step back. You were closer to Teddy than he.

Best
Les
Thanks, his son never responded or even opened the messages I sent him and when I went to Teddy's Facebook page to find a group picture, I found out that I was removed from his friend's list.
I was on there yesterday, when I was giving the sheriff's deputies information on him, but today
So it is pretty clear that this chapter of my life is over and no, I never considered trying to go after anything. But it is clear that Teddy told him that he was leaving me everything and he is going to hold that against me.

I guess because the soul is the identity and when the spark of life is gone, and just an empty shell, which is how I feel right now as I may be going through this again at the end of the week when someone else close to me is taken off the ventilator.
My birthday curse is worse than ever.

I'm sorry you are going through all this. It's the curse of being a decent, loving human being. May God Bless you for it.

Byron,
I can't offer any advice.

I can just say: I am so sorry for your loss. He was lucky to have you.

May we all have a friend like you at the end of our days.

So very sorry to hear that Byron. He was very blessed to have you in his life, your a kind soul.

It is never an easy thing to find a friend who has passed. I am very thankful that you listened to the little inside voice and found him when you did. Mrs. Bugs had to deal with this on several occasions when she worked for the Riverside Sheriffs Department, it’s hard on all levels.

We hope you have folks near you to help deal with everything your facing this week. It’s not easy but please do not compartmentalize all of this. Find a safe outlet to help process the range of emotions your dealing with. Everyone here has your back buddy. STAY STRONG!!!

Your friends,

Trev n Jamie

Man Byron, that is a tough one. I am sorry about your friend Teddy passing. At least you got to see and talk with him one last time. Teddy was lucky to have you as a friend.

I know there are a lot of things going through your head after this, but know... there wasn't anything that you could have done different that would have made a difference. He was tired and worn out. He knew his time was very short. Who did he want to talk to one last time ? His true friend Byron.

I am sorry for your loss, Byron.

You did what a real buddy does.

You also had a favorable last visit with him Sunday which is huge as to what you will carry with you.

My condolences, Byron. You're a good friend, and a great man. That you were there for Teddy is the most important thing. Thank goodness he had you and didn't have to rely on just his deadbeat son.

Good man Byron.

Heaven doesn't have any speed limits. Teddy is tearing it up in the Corvair.
