With a lot of internet digging we found the actual manufacturer, and found a source to buy the bulbs in packages of 5. The package of 5 was $100. We all talk about the Porsche tax, we were suddenly paying a Microsoft tax. That fantastic scanner is a door stop now as almost no one uses 9x9 aerial film anymore.

My Grandpa Alfred, took the boat over from Germany alone in the early 20's and worked on a farm, saved his money and bought it. A girl he knew back home came across and they married. The bad part of the whole works...he never filed for citizenship....and wouldn't discuss it with his family. When asked what ship he took over...he said he couldn't remember. We learned nothing about his family in Germany. He was a gruff hard worker who never became a citizen here.

Took a pic of another one I have...real neon and over 30 years old. The power supply base weighs about 5 pounds. It's never been worked on.
The one on the right uses the bulb I just ordered.

^^^ Yes...they are very bright and appealing. Looking closely at them...I can understand why they are pricey today....lots of hand work involved in building them.
And to be over 30 years old and no gas leaks...incredible.

This layman thinks that the neon tubes on these old school signs would be similar to a 1952 refrigerator's ability to not lose it's "freon". If not messed with, they function a long, long time.
I bought an inoperative neon light Genesee Beer sign having the same set up as your Busch sign 20 years ago from a drive through owner. Gave her $20 and I had to get my fast talking on to get it. I had been eyeballing it for several years up there in the over-the-cooler area just looking skunky and lonely. Took it home, got shocked a couple of times before I found the electrical problem. Has worked flawlessly since. It'a pretty cool. Here's a pic from the below website. I'm not at shop so cant get a pic. Site is selling for $478 but I'm guessing it's a boutique type place? No idea of real value. ![]() https://www.diyneonsigns.com/product/genesee-beer-neon-sign-real-neon-light-z1264/?attribute_pa_size=40&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0IGnBhDUARIsAMwFDLlMhrtZmtWQrIpZRYOF Y5d_yFVaT1Iwkrk2N49_BRt8uH8eQFW-n58aAu44EALw_wcB

^^^ Yep. Along with the labor of bending all the tubing for the letters...the glass is all hand wired to fasten to the frame.
The things are bright...they light up a room. I've never listed mine for sale...but I would think it's worth $250 or so. (maybe more)
