Would be great for Mad Maxing the Australian outback if you can keep it charged...

Also, the reflective nature of the SS finish & the Gorilla glass would help keep the temperature down in the cabin. The enclosed cargo bay would also be very useful (food and provisions storage). Charging would be the big problem in the Outback. |
I can see a lot of these getting a wrap. Especially for advertising. You think it's ugly now!

At least they've come up with a completely original design. Credit for that. OK, so I'm pretty sure every junior high school boy over the past 50 years has sketched out something similar on his notebook in homeroom class, but every other Tesla so far looks like a warmed-over, hideously proportioned, poorly styled, 'this-is-the-best-you-could-friggin-do?????' 10-year old Mazda.

As a pickup, is not a viable choice. As a "look at me" truck, it is for sure near the top right now. |

3 bikes, two tiny seats in the cockpit. Somebody's walkin'! (unless the Tesla is bringing the other cyclist) |
Those Grand Auto wheels really set it off!

Half the the small job guys I know are driving $70,000 trucks. It's the guy in the used minivan that I'm leery of. |

Hey Motion!
Anyway... think of the Cybertruck as rolling R&D concept car. In Tesla terms, they built the roadster to pave the way for future cars. I'm thinking this will be the same. Customers offset R&D costs. Think of it like the Porsche 959 leading the way for all-wheel drive 911 cars that came later. Few 959 owners raced or rallied their cars. Cybertrucks likely won't outnumber F-150s at the construction site, but that's OK. The link between Tesla and SpaceX is interesting. Lessons of Cybertruck production may help SpaceX to ramp up larger scale rocket production. There's a lot of engineering in the stainless steel alone. I spent some time looking at one on Tuesday. It reminds me more of a Humvee/LM002 than an F-150 or Silverado. Think one of the Youtube reviews made a similar point. Whether you like it or not, you have to respect efforts that break the mold. Will be interesting to watch... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1702178773.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1702178818.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1702178877.jpg |
It's so wild It's cool. And 0 to 60 in 2.6? I like it. Not 70K like it but given the chance, I'd sport one. They should make a truck version

Who was the driver of the 911? Was he even trying to beat the Cybertruck? (Stupidest name since Taycan) Did you notice the 911 wasn’t even a turbo? It was likely a base model N/A. I’d like to see a rematch with a 2020 992 Turbo S, whose 0-60 time is 2.7 seconds. Or how about comparing apples to apples, race a Porsche EV. 0-60 time 2.6 seconds. Apparently the CyberTruck can do 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. However, under controlled track environments Teslas, from the 3, to the S, to the X to the Y are unable to sustain 0-60 times because the motors overheat. Porsche calls that “ Repeatable Performance.” http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1702313053.jpg As stated 100 of time before, there will be a market for this vehicle and more power to those who buy one. |
I just hope lots of people buy it so we can here more 'go **** yourself' moments.
I'm not sure there is a more satisfying experience this side of a sexual release than hearing someone tell the establishment that is running us off the rails to go **** itself. So if Elon were to stop in my office and ask my opinion i'd say 'buddy let's work on the actual utility of this thing, the shiny newness of e cars is wearing off fast and it's getting on time to produce useful things' but i'd also say 'thank you for what you've done to the world conversation!' |
