Chrono24.com - I have bought several off there.
Ebay is "not bad" because they force all sales to go through a 3rd party certification. But you pay for that with the 15% sales fee. Reddit Watch exchange has no protection, but there are reputable dealers there, since it is "no cost" Jomoshop is very good and everything is certified

I have a Citizen Garrison as a knock-around watch. It's light-powered...no winding, no batteries. Only mess with it twice a year when the time changes. It's almost like a perpetual motion machine...
And then there's this ↓

Picked up a Tudor Black Bay Pro GMT. Really love this watch. Fit and finish are superb.

Switched last year from a Submariner to a GMT-Master II Pepsi—really love the look and feel. Been going down the rabbit hole lately comparing Clean factory VS factory GMT-Master II Pepsi models. The Clean has some strong points on finishing, but the weight and bezel action on the factory one feel just a bit more solid to me. Still, side by side you'd have to look closely to spot big differences.

Since my wife gave me an iWatch I haven't worn any of my other watches, but I did find something when looking around the iWatch screen options the other day: A Porsche crest! Not sure why I never noticed it before. Also not sure if everyone has it or if Apple put me in some secret Porsche club
![]() And yes, I know I have super skinny wrists.

David,
I looked for that complication on my I watch, I can’t seem to find it as an option. Any idea why you have it? I have the same face as one of my options just no way to add it.

I just looked and the selection for a Porsche Crest is under My Porsche on the iWatch and I have a My Porsche account so that must be why it shows up.

My new toy. Its older and more distinguished sibling donated its pins and strap.
It's far nicer than you'd expect at <5% of a new fancy one. So strange to grab a familiar looking thing that's but a fraction of the weight. The chrono seconds hand (whatever you call the thing that starts with the button) isn't perfectly centered. That's the only criticism that I have. I'm OK with that. I'm not perfectly centered either and my timing precision needs are those of the kitchen or at the grill...

Watch prices have come off the boil - is that right, or have I misheard?
I wouldn’t mind being able to pick up some watches at pre-boil prices. What would be a fair deal on a used daily driver Speedmaster?

There are a lot of different speedmasters out there... "speedmaster" is like "porsche 911" i.e. more desirable and less desirable models and lots of variants. Are you looking specifically for a hand wound hesalite moonwatch (the most iconic)?
The cheapest version of what most people think of when they say speedmaster is the speedmaster reduced, ref 3510.50, which is smaller but still plenty big at 39mm and is an automatic. You can find one used for a little under 2k. For a moonwatch (42mm and hand wound), as low as very high 3k for the hesalite, add about 1k for sapphire sandwich. I would say the market on watches has softened a bit but not a ton at least for the models I usually track (Omega, Sinn, Panerai, Tudor, Rolex, Hamilton, Grand Seiko, Zenith), generally flat for last year but that is certainly down from 2 years ago.

I would reach out to Nesbit here in Seattle, they are the John Walker's Workshop of watch repair.

My Moonwatch took a daily beating for most of 25 years and then the stopwatch function stopped… the button would stay pushed in.
I sent it to Omega to be repaired… I had no idea it would cost $800 but the watch looks brand new. I have no idea how they do it but it’s incredible. It’s so nice I don’t wear it except for dressy events now. It’s gone way up in value too- I think we paid $2k or so? Prices are nuts (on everything).

Curious if anybody has a Bucherer... (I did search this thread and came up with nothing.)
I was looking for "not Rolex" chronometers and it came up, but then I guess they were struggling and Rolex bought them. |

Rolex bought the Bucherer retail business which is huge retailer of watches in the US as Turneau and Bucherer in europe I think.
The watch brand Bucherer was a tiny piece of that and Google says Rolex is shutting it down. I don't know anything about the watches just know it was a big deal for Rolex to purchase such a large part of the luxury watch retail side.
