1976 Triumph TR6. I was a senior in high-school, Niceville, Florida, class of '84!!!
Yep, I still have the paper temporary tag and paper key tag thing from the car lot.

The two pics from the beach are from when I lived at Tango-Mar.

Wow. That was my first car. Same year, but it was blue.

That led to a couple more Triumphs, a 69 TR6 and a 75 TR6.

My thing was a 74, just like this one.

Eventually it had flares on the back fenders and white spoke wheels.

Seafoam Green.

I had to buy a set of tires for it. I went with re-cap bias ply tires. The set of 4 mounted and balanced was $24. And I remember my outrage the first time I had to pay THREE whole dollars for a fill-up!

I’m old…

For real: ‘58 ragtop with no motor for $75. A motor that didn’t run from another guy for $25 and a repair book (that I still have) for $7.95. Put the motor on an upside down trash can next to my parent’s back porch, the book on the porch steps and WALLAH I’m riding.

Sold it to buy a Dodge Van, those were the days. The GT6+ was a great little car. Then I got a TR6, biggest pain in the bottom ever. Let me down several times.

My classmate's parents had one when I was in high school (1980-1983), and I think they may still have it. IIRC, it was the same color, but had a black vinyl roof.

Here are a couple more pictures of my TR6. These were taken in the summer of 1987 when I was living at Tango-Mar (see the "Super Snark Sailing" thread). Beachside pics were taken at Highway 98 when the road ran alongside the gulf.

I was living the dream that summer, living in a house on the beach, sailing every day, and driving a red TR6!!!

Depending on what is meant by “mine”, my first cars, in the early 1990s, were a 1980 Fiat Turbo Spider (my dad and I got it from a friend of his as a father-son project; it didn’t formally become mine until I was in engineering school) and a 1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R, a high school graduation gift from my grandparents. I still have both cars.

Very nice! I was looking at one a couple of days ago parked near my place. Painted yellow. A beautiful car.

Wouldn't it just be quicker to say "1959 Nash Metropolitan"?

Question- can you pull up any previous "first car" threads?

A blue1967 Mustang. Auto, 289 2 barrel.

$600 . Paid half from my lawn mowing savings and financed the rest at about 30 bucks a month. Dad paid insurance.

Dad had everything set up at the bank but I had to sit across from the loan officer and make my case for the loan. Dad co-signed.

First full day I owned my SC I drove it 1300 miles from Manchester, NH to Martin, Tn.

Gave the owner the check Friday night and drove it home on Saturday.
