No surgery is safe.
But this is one of the most common surgeries performed. You are probably safer than your drive to the surgical facility. You will be amazed at your new visual clarity. And the colors will POP! You may have choices of different lenses- get the good ones. I had mine done several years ago- was back to better than normal in a few days. Good luck gary |

I had it done last year and feel the exact same way as the folks posting above.
Amazing.

I can understand the DMV requiring vision correction using glasses or contacts. I can't understand the requirement for cataract surgery.
The ophthalmologist suggested that I might consider that in time. |

Be sure to find and use a ophthalmologist eye surgeon. Don't go to some fly by night guy in a van at the mall. My wife had both eyes done and she does not wear glasses at all. Even for close up knitting work or driving.

this is in my future as well. key issue I was told is you can choose multi focus or just distance or just close with glasses/readers to fill in as needed. I will be going distance and using readers as my attempts at both golf and clay shooting with multi focus glasses have been utter disasters.
currently wear contacts for distance which then has me in readers for closeup. the shame of it will be when contacts are out I have the most incredibly sharp close up vision.

Go for it Joe Bob. You'll be seeing the world anew - with the visual acuity you had when you were 16.

Wish I was as happy after the surgery as the others here. My bad luck, I had to complicate things by tossing glaucoma and age related macular degeneration into the mix. Also have what the Opthalmolist surgeon said are "fragile" corneas. Things did get brighter, but if anything, vision got a bit worse...good enough for most things, but bad enough to prompt me to retire my pool cues.
