I just can't think of anything I want inked on my body forever. Any image I want to show someone, I have on my iPhone in full color, and high resolution.

Without going into personal details, I had an awakening of some kind and realized some things about myself and my life were totally different from what I have always consciously believed.

I never saw anything bad with someone having them...it's just that I never wanted one.

I have co-workers, neighbors, friends and family with Tats. It's ok with me. Most have some important meaning to them.

My wife and I were pretty wild in our 20's and 30's. We are 75 yrs old now. still not yet.
One reason is I really thought that your body is like a Ferrari. You don't take a metal engraver to the body. It doesn't rub out. I don't recommended it but if you have to display a message on the car, put a bumper sticker on it. You know, a nose ring or purple hair. When it doesn't work for you anymore, tear the sticker off of the Ferrari.

I have never figured out why a beautiful woman would Tat up. They do. So, different strokes for different folks.

At work recently, we were discussing tattoos with a patient.
The gist of the conversation was tattoos were bad.
I chimed in "If I had of gotten a tattoo (when I was young), it would have probably been a Duran Duran tattoo, something like Simon Lebon tattooed to my butt"
The meaning was- when I was 10, that might have seemed cool, but not now.

Definitely not now. Times change. Taste change.

The patient misunderstood what I said, thought I actually got a Simon Lebon tattoo on my arse, and trying to be polite, said..."Well... I hadn't thought of that, BUT...THAT's wow, uhhhh, mmmm, what a cool idea."

Oh bullsh#$!!!! No. That's not a 'cool' idea.

I had to clarify I didn't have a Simon Lebon tattoo on my ass, and there would be nothing cool about that at all.

^^^^^ Tatoos were never something I'd considerr for the reasons above. I'd never put something on my body that was permanent. My wife has some tatoos. They're ones she designed and have meaning to her related to us. I sort of like them, but its not something for me.

Growing up, I was never in an environment where I saw tattoos, and don’t have family members with them.

When little Rocket man was at university, he was on the swim team, and several of the guys got a Y tattoo in various places. He talked about getting it, but never did. He has talked about getting inked on his arms. We shall see….

I hope he doesn’t, but it’s not my decision.

This week I worked for a quite blind person who has several tattoos--some of which appeared relatively new. I didn't ask any questions.

Only ever been impressed by one tattoo. I was on my bike struggling up the side of a mountain, in the middle of nowhere, questioning my life choices, when an Adonis like figure passed me as if I was stopped, shouted an encouragement, and disappeared into the distance, leaving me with the image of five Olympics rings tattooed on the back of his calf.

thankfully, my most impressed with a tattoo was on a girl.
she sold me my favorite sandwich of all time. I quit the sandwich shop because the owner is a dick.

she divorced him, so she agrees. . (smoking hot)

I have one. It is meaningful to me and was designed years ago by a good friend of my daughter's. I was cycling a ton and had just completed an ultra marathon event around Mt. Rainier. This was also the year my divorce was final. I don't judge folks who have many. Not really for me I guess.

There may also be new data emerging about some long term impacts of tattoo ink.

Kind of surprised that this hasn't caught on yet...not for little kids of course, but for adults. If you want some tattoos, why not be paid to get 'em?
Certain areas of the body could even command a premium, like the placement of sponsor logos on a driver's race suit.
