(edit) Actually, there's another '08 on BAT....40,00 miles, obviously not as well presented, not well detailed or photographed...an older owner, judging by the video. One that has been driven & serviced enough to have kept it's blood pumping, so to speak. Would probably be a much better buy if one were looking for a driver... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-ford-mustang-bullitt-107/ (edit again) Just for kicks, set it up so you can jump from one auction to the other, then read the descriptive copy with the photos. Hmmmm... |
I agree, 40k miles on a 2008 car is still very low. I’ve put 40k on one of my cars in the last 2 years and it isn’t even my only car!
Either one could be the better deal, depending on price. |
Current bid on this Volvo 142?
$142. :D Gotta love B.a.T.! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-volvo-142-9-2/ |
Now 14,200. :D

Some good banter on this auction too....... |
That Volvo sold for $50k last time on BaT and $44k the time before. It has a ways to go.
|
Hmmm. I'm a little amazed. The 40,000 miles Bullitt went for $27.777. I would have guessed 20-21. (edit) As a %age of sticker, these retain value well. Sticker was $32,720.
|
Now more amazed the 620 miles '08 Bullitt went for.....$44,000! That's roughly 10K above sticker...so, keeping up with inflation maybe?

Admittedly, I don't like restomods. I hate restomods. But there are some that don't at least make me instantly vomit. This thing is another level of hideousness all together :eek::eek: I'm sure the build quality is great. But who cares? They took a C2 Corvette and made this ill-proportioned mismatched monstrosity out of it ....

^ Agreed! But I'm old...still have a vivid memory of staring through a showroom window one night...thinking a then new '62 Corvette was absolutely gorgeous in that (marine?) blue of the time.
|
I don't think that's a restomod. It takes some studying to recognize the car make and model upon which it was based. Restomods are easily recognizable and may take some studying to identify all the modifications. Effectively, that car nears the polar opposite of restomod.
|
I think the term you were searching for is "abortion". It's like they really wanted a '73, but .....
Anyone who wants to see how restomods should be done needs to check out Retropower in the UK. They were the folks Gordon Murray went to when he wanted a Mk I Escort made 'special '. They just finished a first generation Camaro. They didn't care for GMs method of attaching the front fenders and hood, so they re-engineered the front of the car. |
Ya. It seems like an owner came to the realization that it's not good but hope at least 2 other people with more money than taste will see it differently.
