Watched this '86 930 beauty get into last-minute bidding war today. Saw $141K at 1:30pm and by 2pm it went to $177K. Winner would not be denied, last two minutes of bidding kept getting reset with a 4-way battle until finally sold for $184K at 2:08pm. Mine is not nearly this pristine.

Is anyone surprised? This is dealer to dealer, what are the odds that consumer markets are rigged.
Used car salesmen are known for their ethics, like sharks are known for veganism.

I think this is one "special" Ford Product...an eye popper in '56...true luxury and style. Must be something about the car I don't know..bid seems low to me.

(edit) Jeffrey, I click on the link you gave above and the article mentioned doesn't show...hmmmm.

Link doesn’t work, what auction site was that? When I had a dealer’s license I used to buy all the time through Manheim, but you could also bid in person as well. You could easily have people driving up prices online, I bet it happens frequently on all the sites. Even just getting a buddy to bid would be a way to game the system.

When I was at university, a friend of mine, had his dealer license and we would go to the closed to the public dealer auctions. We would buy wrecked, repossessed, turn ins, etc. I bought a 1984 911 for my brother. Next week I was talking to some guy and he said he bid against me to raise it up. What a jackass.

This ‘71 911S got pulled. It’s a rough, non original engine, poor gaps version. Looks like it got damaged during the auction.
