Any VIN research experts?

I picked up a car this last weekend and I'm pretty sure it's a real deal '69 Chevelle Malibu SS but I'd sure like confirmation. I sort of know what to look for with the car itself but what's the best way to find out for sure using the VIN? I entered it into the Haggerty site and several cars popped up ?! 3 were SS but a couple were non SS Malibu. What does this mean? Why does more than one car pop up?
VIN: 136379K411262

Starting In 1969 there was no SS designation in the VIN. SS was an option and not a separate body line as it was prior to 1969.

Thanks, I knew the SS was an option but thought there must be some way to determine if it was an ordered option through the VIN (apparently there's not). These cars are often cloned (the SS is worth double). I secured the car quickly to not let it get away. I'm convinced it's not a clone. 396, 12 bolt rear end, double domed hood, proper badging, etc. Haven't received all of the existing paper work yet which hopefully will contain documentation.

Dry New Mexico car. 0 rust, no damage. Even the bumpers are perfect. It was someone's baby for sure

Yea, by the mid 80s when my El Camino was made the SS badge was just a badge. It could be a 6 cylinder with only a speedometer and fuel gauge in the instrument cluster, and lots of idiot lights instead.

I de-badged my El Camino to make it a ton easier to wax. Anyone can recognize an El Camino. It says it is a SS on the VIN and the build sheet.

There are guys in car clubs and forums that can break it down for you. Look for the Chevelle & Malbu forums.

Matching numbers? Does it have the original owners manual with the associated protecto plate?

I haven't received surviving papers yet. They're coming. Ill go on a Malibu forum and get more info. The car itself checks all the boxes though. If it's a clone it's unbelievably thorough and well done. I'm literally betting good money it's an original SS
