So this is basically double the HP of the full-blown IMSA/WEC GT3.R race car. Waiting for the inevitable Nurburgring showdown .... 1000HP road car with road tires vs 550HP GT3 race car :D

The C8Z flat plane cranks are cool but this sound pushes the right buttons.

It looks like the GT3.R is about a 1000 pounds lighter than the road-going ZR-1. Yeah, gimme the lighter car with the stickier tires (and a full cage so I don't die .... )

I put my name down and am #6 for one of the top 25 Corvette dealers in the country. We'll see.

Oh yeah? But can it carry a full set of clubs? |
Discussed this with a C7 guy at the gym yesterday. Neither of us could understand what you do with the car if you are not tracking it. Lot of money for a commuter vehicle or full size model. And, how many drivers can handle that kind of power beneath their right foot, even with nanny controls?
Got a ride in a 918 a few years back. It was incredibly fast and nimble but.... It ended up mainly as a track day car IIRC. Found my pal's 2007 GT3-RS to be about the limit of what I could handle comfortably on public roads. HP is like money - somebody will always have more. I like the SC just fine. |
i do think we need to look at the concept of these kinds of cars on the street. like, race tracks and race cars are safe because of very specific race track design features, trained drivers, and roll cages etc. and these street cars, expected to be safe in a totally uncontrolled environment, driven by people without training, and they are faster?
like, this game doesnt end well. |
My understanding is the 1,064 HP is an option and the regular ZR1 has less.

Bragging rights...kinda like having a 14" schlong...a great crowd pleaser, but what are you going to do with it?

If we're honest there's plenty of cars that push that limit that don't have 1,000hp. Quote:
