We went to Mexico when I was about 6 or 7 years old. We were visiting some relatives in San Antonio at the time, I think, and drove across the border to some town and went shopping. I still have a metal ship that sits on my nightstand that my parents bought for me there.

One last cup of coffee this morning, and I'm headed home. It was a fine trip. Sure, I saw the local sights, but to me travel is about meeting people. I'll always cherish playing dice with the ladies that afternoon, Rico and his motorcycle, Tracy and the gang at the corner bar, and Maria who talked with me in Spanish as she'd clean my casita. Those Are the best memories to me.

And a breakfast selfie, 'cause photos of airports are boring.

Looks like it was a great trip. Congrats on new memories, and new friends.

Sounds like you had fun...way to go!

Our driving trips to Mexico in the 70's and 80's always included returning with Vanilla and Kahlua.
I suppose that is no longer a thing.

Epilogue:
When you arrive in Mexico you fill out a customs form. When you give it to the customs agent he tears it, and gives you back half.

That isn't a receipt. Don't throw it away.

When you leave they want the other half back. If you don't have it, you get delayed. You get scolded by various officials and eventually get to fill another form out. That is, unless you're kinda cute, act demure, and talk to the agent in Spanish even though your Spanish is atrocious. In that case the agent will conclude you're more trouble than you're worth. He'll just shake his head in despair and say, "you know what? Just go. Just don't do it again."
