Fint, the sane part of the country and world thinks that the problem in the U.S. is that it’s too easy for 14 year olds to get their hands on guns, (like this week’s school shooter in GA), not the other way around. The perp in the OP story had no problem getting a gun and ammo in the SF Bay Area.
Guns are not “pretty much banned” in SF, (your own link disputes that), and you posted a link to the previous DA’s policies that got him recalled 2 years ago. I’d call that a pretty intentionally misleading post and that’s putting it nicely as not to offend your delicate sensibilities. |

So, Denis, what wrecked SF? Be specific.
And don't try to tell me it's not absolutely wrecked, I've spent more time there than you have and still have family there. It's a borderline dystopian wasteland, nothing like the busy, vibrant tourist mecca it once was.

In California, CCW permits are done by county. Between 2012 and 2021, they issued 11(eleven) permits in SF County. California has made it very, very challenging throughout the state. Not too long ago, Cal DOJ doxxed every single CCW permit holder in the state.
https://calmatters.org/politics/2023/03/california-concealed-carry-permits/ San Francisco ran every single gun store in the county out of business. The no cash bail thing is statewide for at least a few years. Denis, if you insist on acting like a jackass, the least you could do is not be utterly clueless

What stops a 14-year-old in CA from getting a gun illegally any more than elsewhere? There is no shortage of guns in CA cities...except in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Somone is shot almost every day in CA. There are more mass shooting deaths in CA than GA this year. Do you not think the end of cash bail and the lax enforcement of crime/penalties did not influence the current situation in SF (where a pro football player was shot on the street for his watch)? Do you not think that the perp's expectations that an apparently wealthy law-abiding citizen would not be armed (and the lax enforcement of the law and low/no penalties) fed into his decision to rob the man? Do you really find CA "the sane part of the country"? That explains a lot.
