The rat was a pretty big one so I bought the rat trap at ACE. Thankfully it worked. The spring is pretty strong. I have high class rats so forget peanut butter. I use Nutella Which we have around because my kids likes them but so does the rat. I had Slimjim and Nutella on the Victory rat trap, as well as the middle of the sticker pads. He worked his way around the sticker pad to the spring trap and got his jaw snapped.

Was the vet able to wire up the jaw? Has the little guy been on liquids? Maybe your wife feeding him with an eye dropper?

Seriously, how do they figure out the sticky traps?

Thar rat is a smart mofo. He hid in my kid's room just about all day until night where its quiet, comes out and knew exctely how to get upstairs and head for the kitchen. My kid saw it running across the room, within 10 seconds, he hears the trap go off. Now, it took that rat only a day to learn the house and where the food sources are and it remembered.
