Boat rental needed for Lake Union

Anyone know of a place on Lake Union in Seattle that rents sailboats between 24-30ft? I rented at a place close to Gas Works several years ago and can't remember the name. I'm dialing around all marinas with no luck so far. Oh yeah, I live in VA and am looking to rent a boat for a day when I go back in July for a vacation.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks Eric! I called that number and got a residence. It looks like the plans have changed and we're going with a powerboat so the others can see more sights in one day...

Thanks

Why not move out to the big Lake Washington? In Kirkland you can try these guys: www.islandsailingclub.com

Thanks Mark. We ended up going with a power boat from Yarrow Bay Marina. Now we can cruise both lakes. Hopefully the weather will hold!

Thanks,
Dan

Yarrow Bay . . . good choice.
I just had one of their boats out a couple weeks ago.
Fun stuff.
I believe all their ski boats have V8's, so they really move.

Definitely go in to Lake Union.
This is the start of "Montlake Cut" that takes you in to Lake Union.

Once one the lake, keep an eye out for sea-planes landing there.
They'll land right along side, or buzz right over the top of ya.

. . .also, it would seem you would be ok to "open it up" on lake Union, but its not.
(only sea-planes and police boats get to go fast there)
Ask me how I know. . .

Wow, looks like a good time, except the visit from the Police

I used to live in Newcastle (Between Bellevue and Renton), and had an 18' sailboat that I used to launch in Lk Washington and Shilshole. I know all about Lake union speeds by watching the boats getting busted while sitting at Gas Works.

The Kirkland public marina is always interesting for people watching. I've seen some good sights there on my friends boat.

I'm looking forward to heading back for a vacation, and we're hoping to hit the San Juans for a night after the 4th.

Thanks!

Ah; you used to live here. You know your way around then; good.

Just so you know; Yarrow Bay Marina doesn't allow their boats out of the locks . . .or over night. (so won't work for a trip to the SanJuans. . .you likely know that)

Kenmore Air is a great way to go. Especailly with any time constraints . . those float planes rock!
I've done the RocheHarbor stay a few times. They have little boats you can rent there as well, for putting around.

Oh yeah. . .the Police visit: It was no big deal, my wife was driving, and those laid-back "cops on boats" aren't out to piss off women.
