Got me an engine. They are multiplying. Turns out people will sell you these cars for less than scrap price if they know you will not scrap them. Im getting another one tomorrow I offered 200 for one and he said take both for 100

#3 Fought hard to get it on the trailer. Luckily the guy had a mini excavator we threw a strap around the middle to hold it up and the back so the middle didnt snag while I winched it on. My little 2500lb winch was struggling but did ok with a snatchblock. Already got all the good parts pulled off and the engine trans out. I set up the carkass in the yard for a lawn ornament for now. My 90 year old neighbor stopped in because he saw the bugeye and to tell me stories about the Healey he had.

I never realized how entertaining it could be to watch someone descend into madness!

Dude I hope you have a garage with a decent heater

I guess running the welder all day it would warm it up some though

I am on Team 930dude.

Once you get discharged from the Rustoleum Asylum for British Cars, start a new thread

Seriously, this is neat stuff...my father was a British car guy so I am in.

Rust is rust. It doesn't matter if it's on a 356 or a Midget.
Years ago I put together a Bugeye out of two. My sons helped with it and now my 3 yo. granddaughter is in love with it and her father, that spent endless hours sanding the body, takes her for drives every chance they get. Those cars really give you a great bang for the buck.

My white gt left me stranded this morning! Got sputtery and stally. I stopped to pick up some garbage scores and it wouldnt restart. The gas tank had pressure so the cap it not venting right. I noticed the fuel pump not running so I swapped it out. Still nothing. Its got spark. Cleaned the points incase and bypassed the ballast resistor. Poured gas directly in a carb and still nothing. Had to throw in the towel and my brother pulled me home 6 miles or so. Alot of the time I had it in third gear to keep tension on the rope without burning up the brakes and it still wouldnt fire. Seems like it must be spark related hopefully

Check coil after points.
There’s been more than a few crappy coils sold for LBCs over the last few years.

Yea I have petronix in my jeep and mini they have been fine. In my mini the wire broke when it got worn out on the rotor lobes because they routed it bad but other than that no problems with the one in my jeep. But I got the Mg figured out. The advance weight fell off and got scraping against the housing and turned the distributor so far that it didnt run. So its running again with no real damage.

If anyone is still interested the car from the original post I made ended up in Daytona and now sports, of all things, a Pontiac iron duke with a monster turbo.

The free Midget I got is still waiting its turn to be painted which will almost assuredly get locked in body shop jail.

Picked up some Vredstein Sport tires in original size for the MGB, (expensive), now the wire wheels are going out to the media blaster tomorrow:

OK, it will not let me upload the photo of the wheels. It says that the file is too large, (5.7 mb), but when I click on "info" for the photo it says, 3.9 mb. Wtf? And why can't this site automatically resize photos? Seems to me that people have posted photos that are 3' wide(?)
