I should've updated my post earlier, but I was taking a nap, lol. Production for my shift was canceled!!! Yay!!! Snow Day, even though I don't have any snow here. I'm glad they decided to cancel the shift because there are lots of people who live in the affected areas, and it would not have been good to be out on the road. It warmed up to just above freezing in most places, but now the temps will drop, and things will re-freeze!!! Alpharetta is having freezing rain at the moment. Hope everyone is safe.

About 3-4 inches since noon here. They are calling for that much again tonight.
At least it's not cold...24 degrees all day.

I might have to consider firing up the skid loader if it keeps snowing here.

I have the feed of my genset going through my breaker panel with a lockout switch separating me from the grid.

In times of need, I can switch circuits on and off as needed while under gen power. At bedtime the genset rests (off) and I live with flashlights until morning.

I figure I can live comfortably off grid on 30 gal of diesel for about 10 days.

Solar cell for summer.
-Not on the roof. Get a metal or clay tile. No penetrations.
-Plant rhubarb and lettuce beneath it in the shade.

Windmill generator in winter to supply 12V+, to the remote underground battery shed, powering those 12V space heaters inside the house.
-Make lemonade
-Not connected to the grid.
-Multiple redundant safety links and status monitors.

Quite slippery here this morning as the snow now has a layer of ice on top . Fortunately the forecast for the next 4 to 5 days is sunny with daytime temps near 40 . Mother nature will take care of it .

Roads are slick here also....too cold for salt/chemicals to work.
I had a 60 mile trip this morning and never used 6th gear...it was all on packed snow.

High temps in the teens for the next couple days.

Mid 30s the last 2 days. Melted a couple inches of snow. Still maybe 4" on the ground. Very cold the next 2 days then 40 degrees an Friday. That may melt off what we have on the ground.

The Snow was back again last week. The roads were pretty slick and the plows had not arrived. I mean, there's nothing in the neighborhood bylaws that says I "can't" do this...

The Weather Channel did away with those nasty -2 and -3 lows for Monday and Tuesday. It'll be much warmer... 3 and 0. Break out the shorts and open the pool!

It was 12 degrees when I went to bed last night. They say it will be 8 degrees tonight.

Just got back from walking the dogs. 7° out and sunny. But the wind is blowing steady down from the north. The tips of my fingers and the tip of my nose were frozen by the time we got home! But those silly dogs were happy as could be to be outside.

I enjoy this time of the year. The daylight hours are getting longer and it won't be long before Spring will be here.
