Surf was huge in Malibu over the weekend…definitely winter.

Brian 162 12-24-2024 06:59 PM

We had around 3 inches of snow last night. The snow blower took quick work of the snow. It’s warmed up to around 30 F

Ice, sleet, and 5-8 in of snow for us. Dammit. Sunday low is zero, I’m coming from Dallas where it’s 65 and sunny.

stevej37 01-04-2025 05:23 AM

Only a couple inches of snow...so far.
But the temp is 14F this am.

berettafan 01-04-2025 06:29 AM

dusting last night in Md, supposed to get 6 inches or so Monday. Yuck. I'm too old for this **** and have zero fun getting it cleaned up. Do have an old 2str snow blower but not certain it still works. Bitter cold and windy as heck today so not anxious to dig into back garage to check it out.

Of course. We finally have enough smooth ice to play hockey out back, now I'll need to risk a cardiac event to clear it off.

It was 68 a few days ago. This morning it is 47 but overcast. Tomorrow the COLD weather hits and we will be below freezing for a few days. And we might get a dusting or trace amounts of snow. More than I want! If I never saw snow here I would be happy. If I ever want to visit that crap I will drive up to the mountains of Colorado as see lots of it. Seeing it on mountains is fine. Just not on the roads here.

I got ready yesterday. Moved the 911 and a golf cart to the barn and brought the truck up to the garage, got the snow blower running, put the snow blade on the tractor, and added fuel treatment in the tractor tank.
I'm ready.

It's been a super mild year for us so far. The past several years, by now we've had temps in the 20s if not the teens. We're forecast to get down to 29º on 2 mornings, so only barely below 32º. I'm thankful that this winter hasn't been worse.

Stay warm and healthy you guys up north (supposedly many heart attacks up north happen when old guys go out to shovel snow).

I'm afraid that if I don't shovel some snow, I'll have a heart attack.:)
(going on 72 years)

Pics from this am....shoveled the approach to the garage....easier than using the snowthrower in a confined area. The 2nd pic is what I had left to use the thrower on.

About 10 minutes for the shoveling and 5 minutes for the rest with the thrower.

Was it wet or dry-ish?

stevej37 01-04-2025 11:36 AM

^^^ Dry and feather light.
The snow thrower loves that stuff.

I hope its leaf blower fluffy when it gets here. It'll be easier to clear the hockey rink.

I am in the middle of the pink zone of the map I posted. Just went to Harbor Freight for a wire brush and they have signs on the doors saying they are out of generators. They are talking this storm up big time on TV.

I'd suggest staying in Dallas. :D

Don't worry, I gotcha! I have two of them out in the barn. Will travel for beer and cigars.

I'm ready.

Solid plan! Be so prepared that you scare the storm away. I like your thinking.

I have beer if you have cigars, come on down. I actually have a generator. 4000 wats, I think. I run it once a month just to exercise it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gif
