Are their gas prices lower? I get my gas at a Mapco station because I get a discount by having their rewards card. Every day the discount is 3 cents off but on Thursdays and Sundays the discount is 7 cents. I know that doesn't sound like much. I also receive points that I redeem for discounts on things purchased in store or additional cents off on gas. I always just use the points for gas.

As a guy who burns a lot of fuel and is always looking for the cheapest gas or diesel, I will not pull into any station that looks like rummage sale with vehicles jockeying for pumps. I'll pay a few pennies more to use an uncrowded station down the road. I've bought fuel at Costco up in the PNW and it wasn't too bad, never used one down here because I know where to buy the cheapest fuel in easier locations.

Speeder is correct. Costco gas on a Saturday is not worth it, even if you avoid getting into a fight. Once you are there, best to look at your shoes, don't make eye contact or talk to anyone. It is very common that everyone is on edge in any 'waiting in line' situations.

Why do people buy $50k+ SUVs and then idle them for 20 minutes in line at Costco to save $0.08 / gal on gas? It really is a thing in my town. Cracks me up.

Costco does not have business owner memberships with extended hours like Sams Club anymore.

Apparently, none of the crazy people get up early

We go to Sam's at 8:00 AM on a work day. We go get the the fresh fruit mostly, and the occasional household detergents and other items. I use my phone app to scan everything, pay for it on my phone with a simple swipe of my finger, and out the door. We walk through a large two lane exit and it ready my phone's QR code I receive after paying, and evidently a few of the more expensive items in our cart, and we are out the door. Our only interaction with other people or employees there is a nod or a thank you. Only a few minutes of shopping time, and we are on our way.

I buy my gas at a locally owned station half a mile from my house and I get 100% gasoline, no ethanol with no line for gas ever.

Costco gas is cheaper than anywhere else around here. I have Sam's and Costco memberships. I have their credit cards too. In addition to their lower gas prices, Costco's credit card give 5% back on gas and Sam's 4%. Just an hour ago I got an email that I will get $164 back from Costco. While gas here is more expensive than in much of the country, it's still a lot cheaper than in CA, so people aren't as passionate about getting gas at Costco and Sam's. It's really not a big deal and I've never seen any arguments or drama. My sister lives on the Canadian border and that Costco parking lot and gas station in her town are filled to capacity with Canadian cars every minute they're open.

Video is of a guy at Costco escalating force and a ccw pulls on him (rightfully).

I did not enjoy filling up at phoenix’s Costcos during the day. Morning or at night before close was the time i would go.
Just to be clear, that's open carry, not CCW. And by the motion of the big guy that caused him to draw, he could have shot him and not been charged with that video, unless it was a problem because he approached the guy first.

Isn't the number one rule of being armed to never initiate any conflict? That works real well in the real world.

EDIT: Watched it again. The genius pulled out a tire iron against a guy who was clearly armed with a gun. Clean shooting if he shot him, other than the aforementioned part.

I open and concealed carry, depending on what I'm wearing. Suit to my office is open simply because I can't concealed with a shirt and tie and pants that don't stretch.

I agree that the approach by the guy carrying is a bit off. You know you are carrying and you instigate... Not the brightest. However, once the other guy gets the tire iron, its game on.

When he started opening the trunk the guy carrying should have left. Seriously, what if he had just come from the range with his AR15 in the trunk? That could have ended badly.

I had a similar thing happen after the holidays. I had been in bed sick for 2 weeks and wasn't at my best, just trying to go in to the grocery store and get a couple of items quickly.

Heading down the aisle to get mayo, the woman in front of me with a cart was texting. Coming towards me was a woman pushing cart and her man behind her texting. I'm sure he was giving open heart surgery instructions to a colleague. Anyway, both directions were moving very slowly.

When I got my stuff I went back to exit the aisle and the woman with her man texting were blocking the exit (more surgery instructions). I tried to go to his right where there was room and as I did he moved and bumped into me. I just kept trucking. He started yelling "excuse me" and as I kept going he said something about "Oh I guess that's how it is".

I turned around and told him none of that would have happened if he got off the phone. He gave me a look and realized I had about 6 inches and 30 or more pounds on him and decided to let it drop and went chasing his woman mumbling "Merry Christmas" (I'm pretty certain he was carrying her purse and likewise she has his BA 11's). Meanwhile, he had no idea that I was carrying.

Right, when you strap on a gun, you need to take your ego off and leave it at home. "But he cut in line..."
So what? Irritating and rude, sure, but not worth all of the potential trouble that getting in a shouting match when you're carrying could turn into.

Right, guy pops his trunk and starts rooting around, it's time to leave (past time to leave) and waiting until the guy gets something out of the back and acts threatening/menacing with it, way too late. And it seems like the little fella with the gun could have gotten in serious trouble. All it would have taken would have been for the other guy to call and say "some crazy guy started screaming at me and then pulled a gun!"
It likely would have worked out OK in the end given all of the video, but it still would have been a huge PITA to deal with.

At least, that's my guess/take on how it could have gone worse.

The best part of the video. He opens the trunk, grabs baton, extends and yells “aww scheisse”.

Most times you are best served by leaving your ego at home, whether you are carrying or not.
