David, we are kindred spirits. You too, Denis. I'm never looking for a fight. At my age (64), I just don't have it in me anymore. But, alas, I'm told I'm a rather "intimidating" or "imposing" figure, at 6"1" and 260 pounds. That, and having been fairly well trained and well versed in "the sweet science", I won't back away from an aggressor. I'll just tell them, most often very calmly, to "bring it". Almost no one will. All b.s. and bluster. They are used to folks backing down, too afraid to fight, or afraid of a lawsuit, or whatever. And, like others have said, there are seemingly more than ever before. Emboldened, to a point, by something. It's just gotten pretty strange out there, just not sure why.

I appreciate all of your feedback gentlemen. I don't look for trouble, but will always be someone's huckleberry if it comes to that.

This was an outstanding video and I agree with him 100% I hate bullies and have always stood up to them and always will. As I age, my patience has grown.

I have always prefaced a potential fight with a statement of fact.

I'm a few months into Krav Maga, 4x per week. I got into a situation in Indiana a year ago, where I thought I was going to have to go hands on. It was a weird situation, as the lady yelling at me was not the property owner or manager, my appointment was not with her, she wasn't telling me to leave, but she wasn't letting me get to the door to ring the bell, where I had an appointment. She was a total nutbag. When she yelled, "How about I just get my husband to kick your ass," a short, but burly man came out the door and looked like he was going to charge me. I was dressed professionally, had an ID badge on a lanyard around my neck, but I also had a pistol on my belt under my jacket and a big OTF knife clipped in my pocket. I ended up walking away without it getting physical, but it made me want to get some training on using my hands better before using an edged or projectile weapon.

Sometimes it is best to walk away. My nephews and their friends were out at a bar in VA Beach and had an encounter with the bar owners son. Apparently, this dude has substance and alcohol abuse problems. The boys were leaving the bar and the guy came out yelling at them, then started brandishing a gun. I thought the boys would have kicked his ass, but no, they tried to de-escalate the situation and walked away. If they didn't, I figure the guy would have had his ass handed to him. Both boys are naval officers, one in EOD, the other a SEAL, and a couple friends were SEALs as well. They have much better judgement than I.

David, you done good. The worst thing that can happen to a bully is to have someone stand up to him.

It’s always better to walk away but sometimes your temper or fight/flight happens and fight wins. We’re human…life isn’t perfect.

Oh, I didn't want to show him who was boss, but I was there for work, had to pay for the lead and the appt and these two nutbags were preventing me from doing my job. It wasn't their property and they weren't even telling me to leave. But I just figured no sale was worth what I was going to have to deal with if things got physical.

Video is of a guy at Costco escalating force and a ccw pulls on him (rightfully).

I did not enjoy filling up at phoenix’s Costcos during the day. Morning or at night before close was the time i would go.

Was that in Phoenix? Which Costco? I thought I'd been to all of them, but don't recognize that one. There was woman shot at Desert Ridge last weekend and after the initial news reports giving almost no information, the story disappeared.

And there are red or green lights (a square with an x in it) for each row that indicate pump status. Red is filling, green is available. Its clear.

Washington State.

I’ve seen some heated arguments at the costco in Phoenix that sells diesel. The workers are quick to push the little flap at the pump and tell people to leave.

The correct answer is to never, ever, go to Costco.

My wife and I did their trial once and gave up on ever going back. Not worth the hassle.

I think you did the right thing by standing up to the guy and glad it didn't escalate into something more. Maybe the d-head will think about yelling at people next time he tries it, hopefully has learned a lesson. We don't have a Costco here. It sounds like it's not a good place to get gas, that's for sure.

The only reason I go to Costco is if I want a hotdog and soda. I don't have a membership so the food court has to be outside.

Gas? fogetabboutit...

As David explained, getting gas at Costco is a very organized process. You need a little patience because volume is high. Its the customers that screw things up.
