Zero complaints on three that I've purchased. The first, sent into office duty, didn't need a factory refresh until nearly 20k shots. The second, first at home than handed down into another office, over 15k and I haven't heard of issues.

Our current home unit, a J8 I think(?), is maybe 5k in with similar pain-free performance.

All fed only RO water, cleaned with the Jura tabs per the machines' demands and "descaled" with more RO because you can't convince the things that you're giving it mineral-free water.

I can't comment much on the milk systems. Our household doesn't really do milk drinks and any that I had in an office banned milk due to cleaning hassle/risk. We'll do it for house guests and I would for VIPs at work. For quality, like the espresso it's better than probably 80% of what you'll get at shops. Not the best in your life but it capably gets the job done.

My only complaints with the systems are the small water tank volume and difficulty managing oily beans with the grinders. Also, our latest one sometimes gets confused/angry with the drip tray/grounds waste bits - it'll error out until you really get up in the guts with a rag and a brush. There must be an oversensitive sensor in there.

That's my experience with my E8. I chalk it up to the beans I'm getting and haven't changed the grind setting for my standard morning (and afternoon) coffee + double espresso routine.

someday I'll get proper beans, lemon peel and change the grind to see what it can do.

Pre-ground Folgers Classic Roast here.
I use a 4 cup Mr. Coffee and am very happy with it.

I did try some Peets a while back....The only difference I could tell was that it was twice the price (or more) of Folgers.

If you really want to be a coffee snob be sure to only use water that was drawn by virgin handmaidens from mountain streams in the same country where the beans are grown...

Wel then ... stop by my BBQ joint if you insist ... it's excellent, cheaper than both, and comes with BBQ on the side

The coffee roasting is new .... the BBQ joint is almost a century old .... original namesake invented "hushpuppies" too

Fish sauce is mandatory with a taco followed up with a Marlboro Light…or two.

Its really both. If the beans are old then there's no point. But ground coffee has a lot more surface area per weight so it oxidizes very quickly. If you have good fresh beans you can easily taste an hour in the cup - actually you probably couldn't even pull a good espresso shot with coffee ground an hour ago - stuff won't pack well.

Heh...

But seriously, maybe I know a guy that needs some help in the coffee department. Is the whole aero-sucky-coffee thing really worth it? I suspect it's like the french press. Good product but too much hassle?

More on topic - unless I go online, or to a distant (for us) bougie local-ish roaster, whole bean is simply hard to find at ye local Krogers. Maybe some Charbucks or really dark Peets but it's grim out there.
