$16.00 + $4.00 tip =$20.00. In and out in usually @10 to 15 minutes... I can't even imagine spending $30 to $50 to more for a haircut!

More than 5 minutes in the chair ... why?

Floyd's is still a rip-off since he jacked the price from $1.50 ... and he's never gotten a tip ... ever. From me or anyone else!

While working I got my hair cut every 5 or For 3 years or so after I retired I didn’t pay anything at all, I just let it grow. Didn’t shave either. Vicki didn’t like it, so I got a haircut and started shaving. I have my hair cut about 4 times a year at the same place that Vicki has hers done. $15 plus $5 tip. At 75 I still have a full head of silver white hair, like my dad. My baby brother inherited MPB from mom. Bald as a billiard ball. At Christmas a few years ago he mentioned that he “…got a hair cut.” My sister looked at his head and said, “Oh? Which one?” It’s been a family joke ever since.

MPB ... dad's side for several generations ... few exceptions. Mom might have Pocahantus or Rapunzel in her genes ... via Stuttgart

Probably 15 mins tops….I keep my hair short - #1 on the sides and short (finger length) on top. Usually go every 3 weeks to keep it clean and neat.

I think I'm the only one who enjoys a full hour in the chair. If I brought my own cucumber lemon mint water, it would be a spa day. Which reminds me.

Actually, several of us do. My last haircut was an hour and a half.

Some of us enjoy it, the rest (my guess is they have less hair) think of it as a repetitive nuisance to be dealt with as quickly and cheaply as possible.

I think of it as an oasis, in an otherwise busy day.

I linger at meals, too.

I sense a pattern emerging.

^^^ LOL ... you'd fit right in a Floyds ...

True story ...

When I was a young pup and brand new at my 2nd major bank ... about 7-8 of us would eat breakfast for an hour in the basement of the RJR/Nabisco building next door/connected ...there was a barbershop with 4 chairs .... no waiting

'Cause it was filled with the same four execs .... every single day ... meh.

I got fat ... gained a bunch...

I just skip both now

I totally get that, but I just don’t have the hair style to justify it…now lingering at meals I’m on board with. That’s what a fine meal is all about….family, friends, good food, good wine and great conversation….I hate to rush a nice meal.

I find that getting your hair washed twice is of benefit, regardless of hairstyle. As is a neck massage, shoulder massage, razor shave of neck instead of using clippers, trimming of eyebrows, extraneous hairs, etc.

Embrace the luxury. You have nowhere to be.

Yup, I get it. Probably something I should take advantage of more often…I’ve had those experiences, I just don’t tend to make it a routine. Maybe I should….

Okay guys, we’ve covered how much, how long, but what about how often?

I usually go about once a month with me doing some sideburn and bang touch up as needed. If I’m not going to be around people much, I will stretch it out a week or so if it’s not too scruffy.

Just to clarify, we are talking about haircuts?

Once a month I guess. It is more grey if it's uncut. I think every three weeks I do the sides, then a complete cut when it needs it.

Speaking of tips, I cut GF's hair and a girl buddy Georgie's hair, nothing
