Florida cold would be a nice break for me right now. I shovelled again today, still colder than normal.

We’ve had a few small snow dumping and temps in the teens F. I finally went cc skiing on New Year’s Day; first time in over two years as we haven’t had enough snow the last few years. Trails were decent, but not deep enough for them to put in classic tracks.

Unfortunately mid to high 30s next week to mess up the skiing again.

Go ahead. It's hilarious! We used to go to an outdoor event in central Florida every February. One year it got chilly. Chilly enough to put a little crust of ice on standing water. Folks there treated it like some kind of miracle substance that never appears in nature.

Supposed to be a high of 58 tomorrow in NW Ohio. A friend is is vacationing in Phoenix and the high there tomorrow is 57. Am guessing my old snowmobile stays parked again this year.

We’re in a warmup for a couple of days. It was 8 degrees C (46F) today and it’s supposed to be around 12C (54F) tomorrow with rain.

Winter part three is starting today. We had lost all our snow and mild weather the last week.
Snow started last night and is forecast to continue thru Tuesday. Temp is 16 this am.

We’re just below freezing with rain/snow in the forecast for later today.

This rain, warm weather and then freezing is just killing our roads around here- potholes everywhere.

Road crews have been out and doing a good job with cold patch.

Weather-wise it’s January here and will be that way until the weather changes to February.

I drove through Marquette, or tried to, one dead of winter day years ago on my way to Houghton.

On purpose.

Next time it will only be by mistake.

^^^ I've only been there one time. The summer of 78 and I had just purchased a new 78 Honda CB750-4 and the wife and I decided to take it up to Copper Harbor.
We had to stop in Marquette to buy more clothes. It was freezing up there in late July.

Otherwise, it's a very nice city.

Here’s a pic of souvenir native copper from Ontonagon County I picked up in Copper Harbor on that trip. Sharpie for scale.

That's cool. The mining history of that area is still very evident. It's really a worthwhile trip to make at least once.
And the drive (forget the name of the road) is as good as it gets on a bike...or a sports car. It's named after the trees on the road up the peninsula.
