I don't mow in the rain and rarely when it's wet... or in the snow and ice

I need to get rid of an old Allis-Chalmers B-10 (1967-8?) ... made in Wisconsin, with PTO, rear tiller, deck, etc. ... I was going to haul it to the metal place with other stuff.... built to last

Unless somebody wants to trade for the lil' beast

That was another reason I bought this one....the side covers are hinged at the inside and spring loaded for easy clean out. (they tip straight up)
My 335 had the covers bolted down and I removed them when I first got it. Of course, when I was getting it ready for them to take it....I couldn't find one of them. Oh well.

Somebody will surely want that. You might be surprised what you can get for it.

I thought someone wanted it and would take it away... didn't happen. The logistics, etc. make it a hassle too. I don't need any $, and would give it to someone ....

For their JD .... even

Oh that is bad ass!

I bought a 30" push mower last year thinking how smart I am to save money on grass service (I certainly do) and get exercise (at least a mile of walking) at the same time. Then I see things like this and think maybe I'm an idiot.

I don't mind anyone asking that...if I did, I wouldn't answer.

It was a few dollars over 10K less my small trade in amount.(I'm not telling that am't)
To put it into perspective...25 years back, I paid 7.2K for my GX335

So, to get a better series tractor, I felt it was worth it after 25 years.

I'm not sure what kind of mark-up they do with trade-ins, but even if they double the amount they allowed me, someone is going to get a helluva deal on a solid machine.

I bought a JD F935 25 years ago, 3 cylinder diesel, 72" front mounted deck, 5' snowplow attachment, dually drive wheels, still going strong. Weighs about 2000 lbs with deck. Best purchase ever.

^^^ Sounds like you have more land to take care of than my 1.25 acre lot.

Did that have a Yanmar diesel engine.
Kohler was used is most of the smaller than your tractors.

JD's hold their value quite well ........... until trade in time . I bought my X740 used it had a 1,000 hours on it . It was in brand new condition . The 3 cylinder diesel Yanmars are excellent engines . Keep up with oil/filter changes and it may outlive the owners . They sound good when you are working them .

^^^ Did you defeat your RIO switch?
My 335 had a car door-like handle to pull up every time. Whenever I engaged the pto I placed a short section of rubber hose behind it and the pto would stay on while reversing.

This 590 has a push button, so I'm going to need to bypass the switch with a jumper wire. (which looks to be easy)

If your X5 is like my X7 the PTO will stay on in reverse IF you pull up on the switch button . You can feel the button pull up just a little bit . You have to keep the up pressure constant , if you don't it will disengage if in reverse .

This one has a button that has to pushed and held in for the entire time while in reverse.

The button is on the other side of the wheel from the PTO switch.
I think Deere just started doing it that way in the last year or two.

On my dad's entry level JDs, the bypass was easy enough.

I think if I just unhook the connector behind the dash...I can use a 3 or 4 inch wire with spade terminals to just plug into the connector.
That way, I can easily return it to the way it came.

Holding a button in while backing up each time is a nuisance.
Nobody will be using it but me and no kids around.

Spent a couple hours today getting it ready for it's long winter nap....

Assembled two jumper wires with 1/4" spade ends for the RIO and the seat safety connection.
Started it up and with the pto on....both work correctly.
New Amazon led light bulbs are in...will test it when it gets dark to see how they work.
Leveled the deck...it was close, but needed a little adjustment
Filled the gas tank with 90 octane non-ethanol gas and it's ready to go.
