Smith Wesson Model 41. the rimfire in general
that 22lr handgun is dancing in my dreams. it was a delight.
my friend had one and it is the smoothest, best triggered 22 I have ever shot. not sure I could pony up $2000 for a used one. the slide is fantastic. the pistol has the best "heft" there is no debate in my head what is my favorite caliber of my life. the 22lr. so fun, economical. I have the Browning Buckmark Contour. it is also very accurate. I actually bested my friend by about half inch which won me dinner. one shot challenge at 35 yards. probably the single best shot of my life. . in the rifle department, I have a Savage FS VR that is so accurate. I head shot a bouncing turkey a few weeks ago from 50 yards. I want a CZ American, but I think my Savage might be all I really need. hate to get the CZ to find it is less accurate. I thought I wanted the Ruger M4 handgun, but that SW41 is a sirens best song. who has one?

If you get a chance, try an original (made in Belgium) Browning Challenger. I paid $71.50 for mine, back in '71.

I definitely need a good .22LR pistol. We have an Sig Mosquito which is pretty crap, and a .22 1911 that’s fun but pretty finicky. We have a Savage Rascal kid sized single shot bolt action that my kids learned to shoot on, even though it’s tiny the thing is a tack driver with a great trigger. .22 is just fun!

Put the Savage into a Boyds stock and rock on (the F stocks are too flimsy for bipod or sling use really). The advantage CZ has over the Savage used to be in the wood lotto stocks that were so common with the 451/452 series and dried out wiht the 455... and the slightly better metal finish. Accuracy wise they are pretty equal in my experience.
If you really want a SW 41, a local place has one a bit less than the $2k .... Personally I'd be looking at the Ruger Mk II line (yeah, heel mag release but no stupid mag safety or LCI etc) or the Browning Buckmark offerings.

We had to send the Sig mosquito back. It would not feed.
My rifle already had a Boyd stock. It’s a great upgrade.

Ours will only feed if semi-clean and only seems to like CCI Minimag ammo. I also did a DIY polish of the feed ramp.

That’s what they suggested we try. They wouldn’t do much since they said it’s not actually made by Sig. didn’t know that.

I’d like a nice 22of some kind
I have a S&W AR15-22, that can’t hit the broad side of a barn. No matter what ammo I use, the further away the target is, the worst it gets. Maybe there is flex in the barrel from the upper? |

semi auto rifle? Probably the Ruger 1022 the most popular today...but for pure plinking fun, I still have one of these, so never bothered getting the Ruger.

I shoot my .22 pistol more than any other x20.
Cheap to feed, accurate, and my closest range is a .22 range anyway.
