I have a Jaco Digital 0-100 PSI from Amazon because I didn't want to spend double on a Longacre.

Same here. I watched the Project Farm video review, and it seemed the best one for the price. I linked it in the other pressure gauge thread.

I used to carry one of various types, and inflated from my compressor or at "free air" stations... till my last two decent ones croaked....

No regrets ... this rock$

That's been my experience and why I have 3 of the AG dial gauges. They seem to work very well.

Everything I read says that the smaller the pressure spread 0-60 versus 0-120 psi will give you a more accurate reading.
Sure, which is the same reason that I prefer analog gauges in the dash that span 270º vs gauges that span 90º, better resolution.

Quote:
As far as accuracy is concerned, each gauge may vary by a pound or two but if you use the same gauge you will know whether the pressure is going up or down (hey, temperature of the air and cold tires versus just driven will cause a variance of a few pounds).
The rears on the boxster can change 6-7 psi on a single drive due to heat. The fronts usually only gain 4-5 psi.

And if the weather in the morning is in the 30s but the afternoon is in the 60s or 70s, the difference from cold tires in the morning to hot tires in the afternoon can be 10-15psi.

If your tire pressure changes more than 10% from cold to hot in the summer, your tires are under inflated. If they change a lot less than 10%, they are over inflated. You want to start with the recommended pressure from the sticker in the door jam and then adjust if necessary using the above formula.

I'm still learning my Macan ... the 4 tire pressures display has gotten my attention recently ... the pressure on the RF is -2 recently... and mebbe I don't get my tires "hot" ... haven't noticed larger deltas with outside temp changes.

I will be watching this

It's what I do

This one? Is there a reliable after market battery/charger?

Anyone ever use the DeWalt? I already have several batteries for the DW.

Sorry no...battery + a charger

I see the inflator for $199 at Ace but the battery and charger is over $300.

I assume Dewalt is decent, but the video again should confirm/deny. (the video does test DW and MW as well as a bunch of others)
If you've got DW batteries, then that's probably your best option.

If you were set on the MW then your best bet would be something like this.
But obviously, if you've already got these tools and DW batteries, then this sort of purchase doesn't make much sense.

Can't read it at the bottom, but your blue point and mine (I have the longer hose model) both say "made in USA"...go on a snap-on truck today & look at a new one? Yep...China.

As Steve said ... I've had a Milwaukee drill (came with a charger and 2 batteries) ... so I opted for the M18 Milwaukee.

If ya have DW stuff ... yep!

They have gotten rather proud of batteries and a charger I reckon ... ouch .

Back in the beginning I'd buy a tool that came with a charger and battery. Some tools don't come with batteries now. When that's the case, the price goes way up to buy a tool and charger and batter. I've got 2 of the Milwaukee M12 chargers and 2-3 batteries. I've got 3 Ryobi 18V chargers and batteries. So now if I can buy a tool sans battery, I'll do that to save a buck. I just bought an M12 4Ah battery for my milwaukee stuff because my old batteries were getting OLD and sucking wind.

I have a digital Longacre gauge that I like a lot https://longacreracing.com/products/2digitaltirepressuregauge-basicstyle.

It has a bleed valve and measures to 0.2psi which is accurate enough for me. I don't know why I still have pencil type gauges.

I'm sure that there may be pencil gauges that are as accurate as I want, but I've never had one.

I converted to a dial to have better resolution to enable me to be consistent. I set my tires to the same pressure side to side and do my best to keep them there. My TPMS has always been pretty accurate too. The battery in my front left finally died, so my next set of tires will require new TPMS. Hopefully, my next set works as well (which are at least 12 years old).

I use one of these types that belonged to my Grandfather. There is a guage on my inflator tool I use when putting air in our tires but I don't trust it so I always double check it with the one my Grandfather had. I'm not OCD, well, maybe just a little.

I also use a gauge that I’m confident in to double check my inflator.
