It's a pretty good movie, IMO. I don't recall seeing abuse, but there was a profound disconnect. I didn't see turtles being squashed, either. He was a jarhead Marine Colonel. You can rent it on Apple TV or Prime for $3.99. If you don't like it, I'll Venmo you $3.99.

I like how he busted Reacher with the "play ball" start to the shooting test. I really enjoyed him in that movie.

One of the most bat**** movies I have seen was "Hotel Colonial" with him and John Savage from 1987---can't say it is good, but it sure is memorable.

Even in The Godfather, he had a little twinkle in his eye; here in The Natural he shows off his little flourishes with his gestures and his words that added that little extra to a scene.
