Communication with Rock Auto ?

I have to warranty a sset of KYB coil overs for my wife's van. Within the year, I can feel play on the top of the strut upon shaking the car. Its lifetime so I shouldn't have any issue. This fooking self help deal on their website drives me nuts. I am able to get one through without issue, but the second one just stops me dead on track. Anyone have any luck talking to them through any email or chat?

I'm subscribing to this thread. Hopefully someone has the answer to this, because Rock Auto's customer service portal is nonexistent.

Yes I have… twice. Once on an injector for my sons 944 (wrong item in the box), and on a VVt actuator on my wife’s old Subaru.

Follow their method, it will get sorted.

Rock Auto is nothing but a broker.
Anyone can sell something, the measure of a good business is when crap happens and what theyu do about it!
I dont deal with them.
Slowly, I have figured out the only way to get the best part is from the dealer!
The chineeeese stuff is worse than awful.

Same crap. You even buy a power steering from GM? It is the same stuff you get from the parts store. I talked to the guy at their parts counter and was told it comes from different plants for assembly line and the ones they sell.

I successfully returned some shocks for my truck a few months back. But I didn't interact with a human. It was all automated. I think your warranty is going to be a challenge. Contact the MFG?

I’ve not dealt with Rock Auto for returns, but ordering parts from Tasca, was a nightmare. It took a month to get the order right and then I found out they were holding it until they got some washers in. I said cancel the washers and ship what you have.

Ever notice when looking for a phone number to a particular company/business, to use their services the number is readily available with someone quick to respond and place your order.

But customer service and help phone numbers are buried deep in their websites (sometimes found faster with a Google search).

And once you've found that number you hear "We are experiencing an unusually high call volume at this time". I've actually had a call disconnected immediately after hearing that recording.

Let us know if the phone works. I hope so. I'm putting that number in my phone as a contact

I use them lots and return on occasion. Simple returns are easy. My one warranty return took my son to help me.

I got someone on the phone there last week, but it was painful and I think an overseas call center. They stopped doing business in AZ due to a court decision over a tax law and lawsuit. But I thought they'd make an exception since I have a sales tax exemption certificate. Their site let me go all the way to entering my CC #, but then wouldn't go past that. They texted me thereafter.

I've never ordered anything from Rock Auto but one time I ordered a cv axle for the RX350 from autozone.com. I got the part in a couple of days and it was the wrong axle but was in the correct box. I took it to the local autozone and they had the correct one in stock.

I have gone nowhere with calling them. after listening to all the extensions to their corporate office, I finally keyed in for their operator. Then the dreaded message, " Hold, someone will be with you". Then I get disconnected. Tried few times with same result. I will jsut have to suck it up and see if there's something I missed on their web site. What a PITA.

******** is tough to reach directly because they run almost everything through their online warranty system, there’s basically no real time support. What usually works is submitting the claim again with very clear photos, part numbers, and a short description, then replying to the confirmation email if you get stuck, that sometimes gets a human review. Also make sure the warranty is filed under the exact order number the parts came from, because mismatches can cause the process to stall without telling you why.
