Thanks guys. This wall may have used a roller but I have rough one 40 foot long cinder block wall like this. So I sprayer for everything.

Will check out the Graco and HF. Paint was thinned 3 to 1.

Spraying is so much easier than rollering too. I did the door and trim and they turned out beautifully. I have decided I'm also painting the ceiling.

Ceiling looks low, but if you ever do a high ceiling, get the extension between the tip and the gun so you can reach without a ladder.

Ceiling is not quite 11 feet. I have a huge Werner ladder that I can do it safely. Lot of up and down and have seen the extension so may do that vs. the jazzercise option.

If I could easily I'd take the 73 off the dolly, I'd use that with some plywood down.

Use an extension.
Start facing the wall and walk backwards as you spray a ceiling.
That way, overspray falls on the floor. If you spray walking forward, overspray falls on your face.

Much smaller scale, obviously, but I used a roller when I did my garage back in '08 and it worked out great. Block walls so used a thicker nap for those.

So, for instance, porch and patio paint has a high acrylic proportion. That kind of paint is typically on an outside horizontal surface and subject to foot traffic. Good paint. Not cheap because acrylic resin is one of the more expensive ingredients.

Cheap paints rely more on vinyl and latex rather than 100% acrylic. And there's more: 100% acrylic, but at what ratio to other ingredients? It gets complex. You have to dive way deeper than a label. Or just consult with a knowledgeable paint supply.
Good to know Milt. Thanks.

I have a Wagner, and it's OK for small jobs. For that job, I would either rent a sprayer from your lumberyard or buy one with the idea of selling it when the job is done.
The best experience I've had with a sprayer is a rented commercial unit on a lot of concrete wall. I'm right-handed, so sprayer in my left and a roller in my right. Spray to get the paint on the wall, roll to squish in into the holes and even the coverage. I covered a lot of wall in a hurry.
I haven't been in a lot of situations where the sprayer alone does the whole job. I've always needed a brush or a roller at hand for touching up.

I have a quality sprayer and use it when it saves time like doing an entire empty house. I guesstimate the time spent masking windows, doors and floors if necessary and the sprayer clean up time. For one room it would probably be less time consuming to roll it. As mentioned above, for cinder block it should be back rolled anyway when using a sprayer. If there are any items in the room they can be covered in the center of the room with plastic for rolling. I would recommend everything moved out for spraying. Also, you lose 20% of your paint in the air spraying. And I'm not fond using a respirator and body suit which is a must to spray. Rolling is fast and you know exactly how much paint is being applied with gaurenteed no runs. Id have a couple of the fluffiest rough surface rollers at hand for the cinder block

Quick note before heading out to Mother's Day V2.

Thanks again for all the great advice here, very helpful.

I loved the way the 1.8 tip HVLP gun laid down the paint, flawless on the door, it just didn't shoot enough of it on the wall. I found a gun with a 2.5 tip on Amazon for all of $28. I won't be able to do the ceiling with it but I have to try it alongside a rental sprayer from HD. 2.5 is like a small garden hose.

Have a great Labor Day!
