It's a Koenigsegg... Swedish supercar w/ a V8... forced induction w/ 800hp, I think. It may be a contender to beat MacF1's top speed run.
I thought VW gave up on their W12 supercar project? Is there a new one? For now they are using the W12 engine (2 VR6 motors mated together) in Euro versions of the Phaeton. |
Do a google for the name starting with the K under the first pic. It's the current fastest production car as far as i can remember.
They had it out here for the motor show last year.. very nice. the website I think they look very nice. :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1107898023.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1107898076.jpg |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1107921464.jpg VW Nardo The vehicle was presented for the first time at the 35th Tokyo Motorshow and afterwards in a 24-hour record trip in the Italian Nardo was put to a complex test. Thus the W12 Coupé ran 7085.7 kilometers within 24 hours, with an average speed of 295,24 km/h. Thus the existing world record was improved around nevertheless 12 kp/h. And two further world records were ended at the same time over 5.000 kilometers and 5.000 miles. The W12 Coupé the machine however achieves 440 kW / 600 HP and supplies with 5.800 1/min a torque of considerable 650 Nm The strength is transferred over a sequential six-course transmission arranged behind the engine to the rear axle. There the particularly developed 19 inch magnesium rims with tires, in front with the dimension 255/35 ZR 19 and in the back with the size of 275/40 ZR 19 establish the necessary contact to the road. Beside the wonderwork of the W12 engine the instruments were designed rather classically. Two round main dials supply the substantial information such as driving speed and engine speed. Over a color display in the armature center function the air conditioning system, the navigation system, the on board computer and the in-car telephone. The W12 Coupe could be coming from 2004 to the dealers. NARDO W12: It drives up to 350 kilometers in the hour and accelerates in only 3.5 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour: The Nardo W12 Coupé belongs as of late to the fastest supersports cars of the world. In the completely newly conceived interior of the W12 Coupé dominates leather, aluminum and carbon. Seats, armatures and door linings were equipped completely with suede and smooth leather co-ordinated with it in colour. An adapted version of the W12 engine is to be used in the future also in the Volkswagen luxury sedan Phaeton and in the new Volkswagen jeep. There the 6.0 litres engine achieves then approx. 309 kW / 420 HP It is not particularly surprising that this engine brings the supersportsman weighing less than only 1.200 Kilos in 3.5 seconds to a speed of 100 and maximally to more than 350 kp/h. Some records:http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-VW-W12-Nardo.htm |
And now for something completely different.....

that's me driving the Seadoo. working on the second half of a 1/2 gallon of Vodka at about the 3rd block of the parade. maybe 1 1/2 miles , 2 1/2 hours of throwing, driving and drinking left. everything gets kind of blurry about half way thru. can't wait till next year. I'm already planning new rides to build.
|

johnco, thats awesome :D Mardi Gras is a hoot in the smaller south Louisiana cities
Where is that? When I saw the first pics of the seadoo the first time I thought you were going to be int he Raceland/Gheens parade. |
Shuie, our parade was the Berwick/Bayou Vista parade just west of Morgan City, an hour or so south of BR. We had 52 units and many units had several vehicles, each float, maybe 20 people. ride what you brought for $25 a unit. next year I think I'll build a motorized bar complete with barstools.want to ride? I'll furnish the booze, but BYOB. "bring your own beads" maybe I'll build a Cajun Armada of Seadoos also. I've got leads on a few more old seadoos and plenty requests for them

Yes Fizzgig - yes Darkcrystal - I am having my 80's flashback moment

The Kern County, California, Sheriff's Department orders plain white patrol units and has the graphics applied locally. In this case. What they ordered...was not quite what they got.
This car was driven for 1 week before an officer noticed what the graphics company employee did on the passenger side of the car. The employee did this on his last day working for the graphics company before he retired. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1108100810.jpg |
