Photo taken by my wifes Grandfather in Egypt during WWII, hes was in the RAF and was there @1941. The local people in Egypt built the support under the face of the Spinx to prevent it "falling off" during bombing raids.

High 50's my a$$! It was only around 35 in Port Huron today where we were for Easter at my Mom's. Almost took the 911 and the Blazer but changed my mind at the last minute and left it home. Curt, I believe we saw you tooling down M84 by SVSU Sat. afternoon in the M3. Wifey wouldn't let me turn around to say "hey". Something about needing to eat, I don't know, I wasn't really listening. Car looked good, sir.

Cool pic. My Dad did some work with that heli company (Columbia Helicopters) on occasion in Alaska. The Chinook/Vertol is actually towing that (220 ton) barge across the ice!
![]() The pic is a bit deceiving though (telephoto compression). The heli is farther off the ice than it appears (but still pretty damn low), and the tow rope is 200 yards long. |

Steve, that's amazing. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what was going on until Eric explained. Why is a helicopter flying straight down into the ice? Is that possible? Why is there a reflection? Now it makes sense. Awesome.

Yuk...I tried absinthe when I was in London a few years ago. It was green. The bartender put a sugarcube on a spoon suspended over the glass while she poured the drink and then lit the sugarcube on fire just like the picture. But the melted sugar didn't help. The stuff tastes worse than your worst nightmare. My whole body convulsed into a giant pucker when it touched my lips. I feel awful just thinking about it. My friend and I forced down about three shots worth before giving up. Apparently you have to drink a lot more before the hallucinations start. I can't imagine how people do it.
