thats an awful bit of history, no wonder the French preserved it as it was. When I worked in Northern France a decade ago on a huge bridge over a main Belgium/french border, the drawings included voids in the structure where it was explained explosive would be placed to blow it down "just in case the germans come back" long memories....... |
