I would have also guessed the Lotus Esprit, but you may be referring to the Countach.
From THIS PAGE is the following
Quote:
Much inspiration was drawn from the Carabo when the Lamborghini Countach was designed, which enherited the overall shape and the scissor doors first seen on the Alfa Romeo show car.
Here are some more Carabo pics: http://dhost.info/thesupercars/supercars/bertone/carabo/68carabo.html

Here's another Italian; also of wedge design:

I think a lot of cars were probably influenced by that, because a lot have cues that follow that.

But a DeLorean seems like it copied quite a bit from that green car.

No kidding. And narrow too. You sure don't see buildings like that very often.

Yes, I was imagining alternate methods of support for those structures.

The climb to the 2nd story is an arduous, yet pleasurable experience.

I'm not thinking Vector.... The fenders seem wrong.
Maybe it was a prototype photo? It is similar to the W8. (linked image)

Not really a sports car, more of a sledgehammer. 600-1100hp and almost 3600lbs, with two big guys that'd be 4000lbs.

But I'm sure it was really fast.

Isn't that from some early eighties movie... "Zero" or something?

I thought of the Vector as well. Also agree that a few cars have drawn upon styling cues....however, there were many wedge shaped prototypes over the years.

When I asked the question I placed the word "car" in quotes. I was using the word loosely as it was a kit car and not a production auto. It was deliberately developed as a copy of the Carabo.

BTW, Gerry Wiegart(sp) originally intended the Vector to use a 911-6 to power the car. IMO, one of the most interesting autos in recent history.
