Doesn't look like an RV to me.

Looks more like an airshow demo gone terribly wrong - perhaps the bottom of a low level loop. Isn't that 'smoke' coming from the dispenser below the wings? I'm sure the next frame has the plane on it's back

Wow!

Prop and engine are toast and maybe the landing gear struts and pants, but it sure looks like he got off light after seeing the first pic.

Not a RV it is a ZLIN. I hope I never suffer the same fate.

It doesn't seem like this was a landing. I don't see any indentations in the grass like this was a hard landing. Almost like he was sitting on the brakes (or stuck) and he powered on the engine. Plus, the people are way to close and it looks like the beginning of the landing strip.

Of course, I don't know squat about planes.

I think the problem was that this guy was into crotch rockets, then moved to planes and didn't realize how bad a stoppy/endo would be in a plane.

I saw a Citabria do that once, just not as severe. It was enough to damage the prop and twist the drive shaft.
The pilot was showing off in the rental plane doing a 2 wheel landing like he should have then keeping the tail wheel off the tarmac as long as possible. Unfortunatly he didn't know when to stop and got the tail a little too high.

I was 17 at the time and was watching him come in while I ate lunch in the airport cafe I announced he dinged the prop and proceeded to head back to our hanger (it was our rental) as the old timers scoffed at me that I didn't know what I was talking about.

They were much nicer to the stupid kid after that day. I was a lineman for 3 years while in high school. Why I never pursued flying after that is beyond me.
