His salivary system must be working on overload. Saliva protects your teeth from all sorts of nastiness. His mouth must smell like a sewer and his teeth will shorty fall out.

Department of Oral Biology > Research > Research Areas > Saliva and Salivary Glands

Quote:
Saliva, produced and secreted by salivary glands, is vitally important for the normal function of healthy human beings...............

Saliva as a diagnostic fluid for oral and systemic diseases and its role in dental pellicle, dental plaque, and dental caries is also investigated

Ah, the McLaren F1 will always have special place in my heart

The silver one is the original road version,
Red one was the 1995 GT1 race car prototype, now owned by Nick Mason from Pink Floyd
Black one in the centre won Le Mans outright on the first attempt, only the 2nd time a manufacturer has done this
Orange one is the pick of the bunch, race car weight with unrestricted road car engine, LM version for the road, only 5 made in celebration of winning Le Mans.
Black one was a long tail road going homologation version for the 1997 GT1 race car
Gulf livered one was a long tail 1997 GT1 race car weighed 910kg (at least 700kg lighter the latest round of hybrid hyper cars).

Antique air spoon my buddy owns. He claims it goes back nearly to the time of Lewis and Clark

I recently visited the Cody Firearms Museum, in Cody Wyoming. They have the actual air spoon rifle that Lewis and Clark carried on the trip down the Columbia River. It looks exactly like your buddy's. Lewis and Clark used it mostly as a demonstration of technology for the Native American tribes they encountered along the way, but said it could bring down a deer if within it's range of accuracy.

He said there was a set of bellows of some kind. I don't believe he has them, or maybe they were too rough to show - can't remember.

It was a large wooden box or bellows with a leather diaphragm. The early ones were done by hand, but later by steam. Not too easy to carry around on a hunting trip, and probably why they never caught on. I think the one Lewis and Clark had pushed the lead ball about 1000 fps. That was faster than the black powder rounds of the day, and faster than the early 45 Long Colt.

There's a furniture store here in Houston that has a bunch of that sort of stuff. And besides having stuff out of Al, I think it's also got stuff out of copper with brass rivets IIRC.
