I did that in college, put a 7-up bottle inside a box. When it blew the cardboard was stained green.

It is a tremendous explosion. I was working in the backyard about 10 years ago, digging a trench about 20 feet long and 4 feet deep.

Brother-in-law was over and showed my wife and I this this trick - tossed a 2 liter bottle into the trench filled with the water and dry ice.

HUGE explosion......no doubt it would remove fingers or a hand.
