Yep... you can tell by the laughter.

I love those euro 'rat rods'. For some reason I've had an affection toward rust. Maybe it's because I miss my 914. :D

Anway, here's the latest R/C car I painted...

That overall record ? - the fellow driving it beat a fellow in a Ferrari named Carrol Shelby BY WELL OVER A MINUTE !

That 4 cam engine has only been split once in almost 60 years of hill climbs.

Joe Bob 10-17-2007 05:49 PM

That 4 cam motor is worth a piszspot full of money....

I love that car. It belongs to a kid (forget his name right now) that is working at Emory Motorsports. Gary and the kid put it together, and Gary tells me they were planning on driving it out to Bonneville for Speedweek. He was rather dissapointed when the original left front fender rusted though and caved in one day when he leaned on it, and he had to replace it with the fancy painted one shown in these photos. The car is mechanically perfect underneath, of course, coming out of the Emory stable.

The new fad is to sand all the paint off and let the car rust. In some cases, the kids will accelerate the rust by using acid.

I like that 356... it's actually made from leftover bits & pieces.

There was a story a few years ago in Sports & Classic car about a Jaguar restoration specialist in the UK. He's renowned for his 100 point restorations on Mk2s, etypes, 120 &140s.

But even he gets bored of "perfect" cars. So, for his daily driver he has a 140 coupe that looks like someone put air in the tires and pulled it from a chicken coop. It is PERFECT mechanically, and even has a rare "C" engine.

I don't car for the idea of "adding" patina though. It's hokey, like torching & beating furniture to age it.

Nope, it's Jenna Jameson!

I never thought she was just good looking anyway. Now Marilyn Chambers, on the other hand....

Typical floor-to-floor heights in high rises are about 12'-14'. You're forgetting about the thicknesses of the floor plates (structure, mechanical/ductwork, plumbing, drop ceilings, etc.) That can easily be 3'-4' or more.

Not always, not in a residential (condo, apartment, hotel) building. Often just the slab thickness, if slab. HVAC, plumbing are usually in soffits internally. Floor to floor can be 9 or 10 feet, and often is.

Where are the pictures for the last few posts? Is there a problem with the board? This is a picture thread right? Or did someone change it to a "Let's talk about random pictures"?

Now stay on topic!!!
