Jeff - !
Tell us about this one! |
I wish I could, Craig. All I got was the pictures in an e-mail along with a smart-a$$ "engineering story problem" concerning how fast this idiot must have been travelling to achieve such remarkable penetration through the overpass. You know where I work and how this stuff flies around; the original context has long since been lost. I'm kind of curious myself... This guys deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award, if nothing else.

Holy Moly, usually when you see a truck hit a bridge, the truck is only inches higher than the bridge. This guy missed it by what, 15 feet of clearance?

Some time back, there was a post of a model engine that actually operates. (Ferrari, I think.)
Anyway, I ran across this today: http://www.floridaame.org/GalleryPag...20v8%20051.JPG and the video is here. edit: Built by Ken Hurst of Napa, CA. |
That little sucker has a nice growl!

This is a variation of the RC2-266 concept Corvette. It was mid engine and had a 4 rotor wankel engine in it. It was supposed to compliment to upcoming Chevy Monza that was to be powered by the GMRE (General Motors Rotary Engine) that was shelved after the new emmisions laws were introduced in 1974. |
