I guess because it is taken out of context, or maybe people just don't like Fred.

Here is the whole clip, a harmless moment in 1967 when Fred Rogers led some youngsters through the familiar children's song "Where Is Thumbkin?," which is traditionally accompanied by participants' holding up the corresponding fingers as they are each named in the song.

Thanks for pointing this out Cash Flyer - I may be old school but there are too many who feel they have to twist things into something vulgar in a feeble attempt at humor.

It's lazy and disrespectful to a great man.

I gotta agree here. Its one of those things you don't do. Fred Rogers was a modern day saint in my opinion. There's an old story of how his car got stolen and a few days later it was back in the same spot with a note that read "If we had known it was yours, we would have never taken it".

Not many people who have that kind of cred.

The man was dedicated to love and understanding. Here's a video of Mr. Rogers, killin' em with kindness...

Yes, I know the story as I was a watcher of B&W TV and the show back when it originally aired. However when I point things out some don't particularly appreciate my opinion.

I once "quoted" someone else's unedited post and got whacked........so I have tempered my postings with G rated pics, my form of comedy and commenting. There have been a LOT of changes since 1997.......yada yada yada......

I like hanging out here despite some of the hair triggers on the site.

I don't know why (I'll bet that I'm not the only one), but every time this pic is posted I think; gotta be 3 dudes with wigs & dressed up for the part. The flip side is - maybe I bit on a joke of sorts. If the laugh is on me - good one :D - & here's hoping all of you will enjoy a great weekend.

Cheers
JB
