thats amazing so its a bomb bay? tthose bombs are racked and ready to drop? so as they drop out there is wire which arms them at a certain distance below the plane? unbelievable... amazing and dangerous job. i assume the bomb bay doors are not open with that guy standing there , correct?

He may be clipped to a safety cable at his left belt line.
Doors could be open based on the light below.
Just my opinion, may be interpreting the pic incorrectly.

Some good news about B-29s.

There soon will be another flying the skies to join FiFi, the only surviving B-29 currently in flight status.

"Doc" has been undergoing restoration in Wichita since 2000 when she was rescued from the China Lake bombing range.
