Being a guitar player of mediocre ability, can someone explain in layman's terms how one would use such a chart? Or what it attempts to show?

This lived above the Arroyo Seco NE of LA above what is now JPL. Some Einstein decided to tear it down long before I was born. Would love to have hiked up to it!

At 6 o'clock... in the cycle of fifths... I just don't get the G flat/F sharp.

Check out Hendrix's version of "Hey Joe." He goes through the whole cycle of fifths.

It is amazing to me that something that large has enough power to break free of the friction from the water. Wow!

It is merely a "cheat sheet" of a sort. It simply lists the accidentals found within each major key and identifies the related minor key each of which has its own set of accidentals.
