My parents still have one of those orange fiberglass chairs. I used it all through college. It is way more comfortable then it looks.

Sure does. Similar to the first house I owned in '77 -- also an Eichler. There's a book on Eichler homes. They're pretty famous in architectural circles. What I loved about mine besides the design was the radiant heating from the slab...

My wife's family grew up with those chairs. Her father still has about 10 of them at his house and uses them every day. They are surprisingly comfortable.

They're nice chairs and collectable as "Mid Century" antiques. Ray and Charles Eames came up with alot of timeless designs http://www.designmuseum.org/design/charles-ray-eames
