The White Stripes (Megan Martha White, drums, vocals; and Jack White whose original name was John Anthony Gillis, guitar, piano, lead vocals) were formed in Detroit in 1997, specifically Bastille Day (see 1997 in music). While the two bill themselves as brother and sister,[1] a marriage license has proved they are in fact a divorced couple. [2]

Stripped down blues based rock must not be your cup of tea. In that case, The Carpenters are over in aisle 7...

"stripped down" blues-based rock? Yes, when it is someone like Johnny Campbell, fine. White stripes? Yep, heard them and thought "more like brown stripes"...Very bush-league garage band...Hell, I even like the Stones....to each his own. I make my living playing blues...But then again, there are probably folks who like the "new" kiddie-based reincarnation called DEVO-II (and I LOVED the original Devo);)

The fella who builds the Ariel Atom just bought my friend's place in Ashland. He will be building the cars on this 4.5 acre site.
