Hmmm - the left hand switch appears to be in upside down, and not connected. The wire going to the right hand switch goes around the screw in the wrong direction. I can't make out anything else - is there something more obvious I'm missing?

There was a tread on this. The switch on the left is connected in the back of the switch. The mess in that box was discovered when the three way switch that is pulled out went bad.
