"PJ" are the initials of my brother's mother-in-law. Or my sister-in-law's mother, either way you look at it. They bought it, fixed it up, and got it running and my sister in-law's younger brother was managing it.

But that was many years ago.
I don't know if they still own it or not, I'll see em at Christmas and ask iffn I remember.
She had a little flower/coffee shop down the street there too.
EDIT: they also own Meads green door café, a vegetarian place on Chapman.

Interesting you would say that, my brother's in-laws bought an historic Baptist church in ole-town Orange and converted it into a restaurant.

My wife and I have been to that restaurant. Good Mexican food there.

It's not that profound. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

Do this and you'll cheer up after a few days or maybe a week:

Have to get this made into a poster.

What's funny is, I've shown it to the guys in the firehouse, and the most of the younger guys were like " oh ok that's pretty cool" ( after I explained it to them...). The older guys caught it immediately and seemed to be a little more moved by it.

I like Bart Simpson and all but I guess it doesn't "move me" in any particular way

If that moves you then you need to get out more. Gas is under two bucks a gallon, what more motivation do you need? Push the keyboard in and go drive!

Okay, please explain it to me... at first I thought this was from a Sci-Fi novel... now I notice the guy is wearing a Charlie brown shirt... can someone tell me the origin of the drawing?

Thanks

It's from a drawing called "It's the Apocalypse, Charlie Brown!"

Well, I just got back from a week out in the woods teaching a search and survival course.

Guess my first day back at the keyboard, got me thinking too deep......

Put me in the "this moves me" camp. Really is a homerun as far as I'm concerned. I like some of the subtle touches, like the football and Snoopy's goggles.

cashflyer 12-10-2015 02:12 PM

Just a guess, but I imagine that it moves certain people because it represents lost innocence.
Screw the stupid story in the link. People here were commenting before the link was presented. In this drawing, Charlie Brown has grown up. He has his familiar football, and his faithful dog Snoopy with him. All the bullying he took as a child has made him tough enough to survive in a hostile land. Thoughts of Peggy Jean are distant and infrequent memories, supplanted by more pressing thoughts of making it through another day.

Childhood shows the man, as morning shows the day.

Well, 1000 pages of "PPOT More Random Pics" and 2 1/2 years later, I got my answers. I topped it off last summer, and made plans to remodel the closet in October.

I was able to tip it on its side and roll it into my daughter's room, who was away at school.

While at the hardware store I saw a paint bucket and remembered that I often stood on them so they had to be strong. So I modified it a little:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1449791349.jpg

I needed something to hold it neck down, but with access to keep clearing its neck.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1449790429.jpg

I then planned to roll it up a temporary ramp and then with the aid of gravity let it slide down on top of the bucket.

But...

After rolling it several times around on the carpet, when it got to the top of the wood ramp, some atom bumped some molecule, and with no warning, the need for access to clear the neck came to quite an abrupt end.

No one was harmed in this production, but we spent a LOT of time picking out circa 1950 shards of lass from the pile - many of which were shaped like the swords Isis uses to do their evil.
