KNS - That is awesome..... If there was a way of me creatively financing 100K for my commercial Instrument rotor endorsement, I would be all over it. On my bucket list is some stick time in a OH6, hot rods of the gods, nimble little minx they are....someday. Then again, I have the pipe dream of getting some stick time in Crazy Horse of Six Shooter in FL but you have to start out with some T-6 time to show your proficiency handling such a big animal. Unfortunately, more money that this cowboy has. While assisting with the Oroville spillway issue, the young Lady from that Flying Wild Alaska show dropped by the Chico Airport. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0711f8144d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4fd76277cd.jpg The guys at work fly the B3 with all of the trimmings...........rat basturds. J- I'm liking the dirty Beaver Porn yur posting........Nasty!!!!!!!!!! Keep it flowing. Local chap's play toy https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f97744abec.jpg Last summer he flew into KAUN and picked up a guy I know. They then flew up to Tahoe, landed and taxied up to a restaurant and had lunch then returned. Rough way to spend a nice sunny day, just wished I had been invited. I'm sure I've posted a few times on my past flying, some pictures here and there too, most recently on that Christmas tree sling load thread. Most of my time is in AStars (about 3000 hrs in those) but a lot of 206 time, AS355, Robinson and some Schweizer 300. Edit: Schweizer without the "t" |

Of course, your tail rotor can't kill and maim as effectively with a NOTAR. Quote:

I saw one like that doing power line work a while back, in Roseville on Foothills Blvd. I don't know what they were doing, but he had a large "cross bar" that he dropped across the high-tension wires.

Yeah I believe it was. She was either enroute to or from something in the LA area. I personally did not see her because she had left by the time I arrived. The other guys were talking about it. Said she looked and was exactly like she was on the show a few years ago. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Many, many years ago at the Reno Air Races, they had a demo with the NOTAR. They claimed the pilot was one of only five or so that had some type of "Unlimited" rating in helicopters. I give him credit because in front of thousands, he did several barnstormers loops in it and many other maneuvers that weren't possible in a helicopters, so I thought . Very unusual to see a helicopter do loops. Like previously mentioned, in hot high DA, the effectiveness of its tail authority is reduced. AZHP for a little bit had the largest flying fleet of them. In talking with the crews, they said that the actual aircraft shipped from the factory brand new with zero hours and they discovered the fuselage was out of jig. Needless to say they have diversified their fleet so a fleet related issue doesn't take them out of service. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
